LOOKING FOR MAYA

Mother thread's on the floor gently as she walks to the living room, looks around for a while. MAYA (CONT'D) Mama! MOTHER: (becomes amaze) Maya! Where are you? MAYA: (From passage) I’m here mama (Mother turns to the direction and she Appears in the passage) MOTHER Where? she said, she turns to Maya's direction and sees her, takes a close gaze at her with a faint smile radiates all over her face, gradually approaches her, wanting to touch her and Maya disappears, a swings of her mood as she wonders. MAYA: (Distance voice) Mother MOTHER: Where are you Maya? I want to see you. ( Maya appears on mother's bed) MAYA: No Mama, My presence is of no importance to you. You’ve always long to see me out of your life, Now that I am gone, I hope you find the peace of mind you desired. MOTHER: (Remorsefully, tears drips off her cheek) No Maya, Don’t say that again. I never did, you are part of me and I will never wish you bad. MAYA: (Walks to her and stands affront of mother, then whelms in disagreement) You made me pay dearly, the price I know nothing about.You cut short my life and shattered the whole of my dreams. Why mama? MOTHER: (Gradually goes on her kneels as she sobs bitterly) I’m so sorry Maya, I never wish to lose you for anything, you are all that I got, I want you back home, come back home Maya. MAYA: (Angrily) No! You maltreated me Mama, I began to nurture this feelings that maybe you are not my mother. Are you? MOTHER: (Sobs) I am…… (Grieves) I am your mother, I was just being myopic about the fact that. (Sobs and calmly) happiness comes with choices, but I decided to be sad every day of my life.
