The moment I stepped into the hospital room, all eyes turned to me—and then to the person standing beside me. For a second everyone had forgotten why we were all here. All of us got a text in the wee hours of a seemingly stressful day. The heat and the stale dry air filled every inch of every room. Nobody knew how long this heatwave and sudden drought would last. Everything that was in order felt like it was in shambles now. It seemed like only yesterday we were saying farewells with happy smiles on our faces but after knowing that Jeramaine and Oriana had found themselves thrown into a sudden freak accident, it was unexpected. Another thing that was unexpected was for my friends to see me and Savannah hand in hand.
