Chapter Fourty-One

2566 Words

-Jake’s P.O.V.- There is an incessant pounding in my head when I open my eyes in the morning. It’s nearly sickening.   “Who opened the drapes,” I mumble, pressing a pillow over my head in an attempt to lessen my headache, “sunlight is killer for hung overs.”   I try lifting my head, it makes the room spin. Yup, I tell myself, I need to stop drinking.   “That would be me,” Athena replies, startling me. “It was looking too gloomy in here.”    I slowly lift the pillow from my eyes, catching a glimpse of her bare back as she turns away from me. There is a tattoo near her left shoulder, shaped like a purple hyacinth. I reach forward without meaning to, tracing the drawing with my fingers.    “Anything to your liking, Alpha?” She turns slightly, grey eyes finding mine immediately.
