Chapter 12

557 Words
James drove to Jenna’s parents house then waited in his car for her to come out. Jenna technically lived in the warrior dorms in the pack house as an elite warrior but she spent a lot of time at her parent’s home, especially if she needed to get ready. The warrior dorms were great, but had been built for males and although there was a section just for females now, it was not set up with full length mirrors and perfect lighting for applying make up like her old bedroom was. James liked Jenna’s parents but they had been hoping and expecting him to take Jenna as a chosen mate for a few months now, and after the conversation he had just had with his brother, he did not want to discuss mates of any description with anyone. When James saw Jenna walk out of the house and close the door, he got out of the car to take her bags and open her door for her. He tried to be a gentleman as much as he could and this gesture was always appreciated by Jenna. The strong, fearless warrior loved to be treated like a lady when she was dressed like one and tonight she was certainly dressed like one. “Wow. You look stunning tonight.” James told her looking her up and down. She really did. The short black dress clung to her perfect curves accentuating her already perfect hourglass figure. She had to train a lot to get to be an elite warrior and it showed. She wore killer black heels to match that made her 5ft 4 frame reach almost to James’ shoulder. Her light blond hair was perfectly curled and pinned in a loose updo. She gave him a small smile of thanks. “You haven’t spoken to Drew or Matt today have you.” James enquired, as he closed the passenger door and ran around to get in at the drivers side. “No why?” She asked, concern in her voice. James ignored her question, starting the engine and pulling onto the main road out of the pack. “Why did you ask if I had spoken to Drew or Matt?” She repeated. They were waved through the pack gates and onto the road that would lead to the Crimson Moon pack. “They kinda said I couldn’t bring you tonight.” He said in a low voice. He knew that if they weren’t already out of the pack lands she would have refused to go with him, demanding he take her back home. No one wanted to get on the wrong side of Alpha Drew. Well almost no one. James seemed to relish the prospect of angering his oldest brother much to the surprise of everyone else in the pack. “If they send you to the swamp just let me know I will cover your patrol duty.” James offered. “James Whitlock you are going to get us both in trouble with your brother one day.” Jenna scolded. “That day might just be today.” James joked flashing her his mischievous grin as he took her hand and placed it to his lips giving it a quick kiss. He knew this would get him out of trouble with her at least for now.
