Rose and Connor quickly showered in the old gym and redressed before leaving separately. She hadn’t gone far before she had a thought and ran to catch up with Connor.
“I want you to start training the she-wolves.” Rose said to Connor knowing this was a huge promotion for him, a promotion that he desperately wanted. He looked at her incredulously. The she-wolves had never trained in this pack, her father had not believed that she-wolves should fight and therefore didn’t need to be trained. Several packs did train all wolves equally. Some trained them for purely for equality such as Alpha David’s pack but some smaller packs did so out of a necessity for more warriors.
“I’m not sure I could do it.” He replied uncertainty clear in his voice.
“Nonsense. I can’t think of anybody who would do it better. You have been so patient training me. I know you will do great. I trust you.”
“You are a natural. You barely needed any direction or telling twice.” Connor said to Rose and she felt her cheeks redden at his words, proud of herself for impressing the elite warrior.
“Start small. Start with the ones who have trained before in other packs. Then you can set up another group of the ones that show interest in becoming warriors. Then light training, mostly self defence for the rest. All she-wolves over 16. The younger ones can join the juniors.” He smiled his gorgeous smile at her. Before a frown set over his face.
“Is this because of?” He looked back in the direction of the old gymnasium. Indicating what they had just been doing.
“No”. She switched to the mind link. “It’s not because you are f*****g the Alpha. That just happens to be a perk of the job.” She gave him a devilish smile of her own.
“You are a very wicked Alpha.” He joked back through the mind link.
“You will have to punish me later. You are very busy right now selecting your own trainers and preparing for your first training session tomorrow morning at 5am.”
“5am seriously? I’m on patrol till midnight.”
“Not anymore. Lead trainers don’t do patrol. You will need to inform me who you select as your trainers so their patrols can be changed too.”
Rose felt like she was finding her feet now. She was implementing changes that she believed in and she felt like the pack was becoming what she wanted. She had respected her father whilst he had been the Alpha but now that the pack was hers to rule there were so many things that she wanted to change, the first of which she had just implemented. She-wolves would know how to fight in her pack they would be able to defend themselves. She knew that now that she was the Alpha Astrid would not be hidden. Having a strong powerful Alpha wolf would not be something to keep hidden. Her pack would feel safer with Astrid leading the pack and she would start right away. She sent out a pack wide mind link informing everyone of a pack run tonight. Rose felt Astrid’s joy at her sudden change in attitude towards her.
