Unfair I could write a list of things you never cared about and at the top of it, would be me. Did you even try? I swear you didn’t but everyone else says you did and that I am being unfair. What the hell do you know about unfair? Unfair is having a Dad that doesn’t know your favorite color or birthday, let alone what you’re allergic too. Its pouring bleach in trash black bags of his s**t, then throwing them outside so you don’t have to see him. Its waking up at three in the morning to the sound of the door breaking beneath the weight of his boot because we changed the locks. Its having your mom jump out of a moving car, because your parents don’t know how to get along. Its having to explain to the police that the sad excuse of a man they have in custody is indeed your Dad and that, you are not in danger. Even though you know You are. Its even being on the top of this list. Found Lost soul I was looking for an end and instead found a beginning with you. Fruitvale Drive Sometimes when driving somewhere new, I like to watch you as you take in all the scenery your eyes spotted in all the colors of the world beyond the passenger window. You have this way of viewing the ugliest of landscapes as if it is one of god’s snowflakes that always had the capability of beauty I could watch you for hours. See your head move in all different directions as your attention gets redirected from one spot to another, yet you always watch me from the corner of your eyes Eventually, you catch me staring and turn your gaze onto me. In that instant neither of us have to say a word We understand what the other is saying. Then with that sparkle of love in your eyes you smile before turning back to the view as I turn my focus back to the road.
