"And that was the only crazy thing She ever did." Marek concluded his story finally getting a laugh from Emerald. His heart beat faster and excitedly, he grinned like he had suddenly won a lottery. The first 10 minutes had been really awkward, the introductions, the handshake, the eye contact, he had somehow noticed her unease, but when he sat down and Xiao hui brought out drinks, they had all kind of relaxed and started talking. Still Emerald hadn't said a damn thing as him and Xiao hui bickered back and forth, She only had a strange smile on her face, like She was with them but also not with them. At first he was like, maybe he should just book himself into a hotel but no, that meant not having a chance to interact alone with this mystery chocolate woman. She was wearing a big shirt which covered her body upward, Ofcoarse because it reached mid thigh. She had beautiful legs, they were not long but had a shape that would make any man go crazy and start fantasizing. She had big breasts too that could be seen even through the big shirt. Her smile, it was sly, mysterious, Sexy, comforting. Her eyes, he couldn't see them clearly because her kinky curly hair was all over her face. It's like she hid her eyes intentionally. That bothered him, why would a girl want to be far away from him? He was irresistible, that he knew for sure, and he would have expected her to be already laughing out loud at his jokes, which hadn't happened so far. It was just that smile, that didn't seem to go away.

He had told them a story of Xiao hui, six years ago when he had returned home with a cigarette in his mouth, and the moment She saw him, She had gone crazy and locked herself up in the bedroom and cried.

That story surely made Emerald laugh. Not because the hot guy she already wanted to jump had told it, but because She tried to picture the Xiao hui she knew now being that emotional and She couldn't imagine it.

"C'mon, I don't remember that shit." Xiao hui protested as She saw her friends laugh. She hoped against all hope that they would really get along.

"Haha, I Can tell you more If you want." Marek said.

"Wait." Xiao hui Said as She grabbed an empty bottle and glared at him in a threatening way, "Continue." She said innocently.

"Okay, and that does it." Marek lifted his hands in surrender and reached for his beer. He couldn't believe he was drinking and smoking at the same time. It had really been long since he gave all this s**t up. He looked at Emerald through the smoke. What is your story? He thought to himself.

"Where are you from, Emerald?" Marek asked.

"Uganda." Her answer came out guarded. People usually categorised Africa into one country and she hated those topics. She loved Africa because it was a diverse continent with many countries, She loved her country so much more.

"Woah, isn't that where the Wakanda movie was based?" Marek asked.

"Yeah, some parts of the movie setting is in the Western part of Uganda."

"Cool, I really wanna go there some day." He Said in wonder making Emerald almost laugh.

"Yeah, actually we all Should." Xiao hui Said.

"I mean, I just love how black people are always so happy." He said truthfully.

"Yeah." Emerald answered. She really didn't want to talk about herself or her people. There was a short pause, then Xiao hui saved the day or not!

"So, Eme, do you feel better?" Xiao hui asked her friend, "Oh, stupid me for asking you that. Sorry Girl. I Should know better."

"It's nothing Gal, you know that." Emerald eased her friend.

"Hmm, something going on?" Marek asked hopefully. Maybe this was his chance to know her story.

"Nah, it's nothing to worry about." Emerald replied quickly and smiled reassuringly.

"Can we tell him?" Xiao hui asked making Emerald look at her like She was batshit crazy.

"Nooo." Emerald answered incredulously. what the f**k was wrong with her friend. She never had a secret in her life.

"C'mon, I mean, you guys are gonna be sharing this apartment for like two weeks, so he will probably find out." Xiao hui pushed.

Emerald knew this was a lost argument. Xiao hui was like her sister, If She wanted something She would definitely get it. Emerald wanted to be rude and say something like it was none of his damn business but well, that wasn't going to cut it. "Fine." She said grudgingly.

"She's pregnant." Xiao hui said suddenly.

Marek's chest squeezed suddenly after the words left Xiao hui's lips. That was not what he totally expected. She had a f*****g boyfriend? who the f**k was he? And why did She not look happy about the situation? "Well, congratulations." He lifted a glass towards the ladies with a big smile. Neither smiled back.

"No need thanks." Emerald Said tightly as She drunk more whisky. Xiao hui had mixed sprite with whisky for her. Now that her secret was out, She would drink to it anyway. Ofcoarse She knew more people knew about her situation because Xiao hui cared too much. She had already told her boyfriend Ofcoarse and his friend and God knows how many other people She had told. She had chosen her friend, so She was gonna live with her. I mean, Xiao hui was the kind of person who would expect you to have s*x and tell her you had s*x this number of times and how good or bad it was. She never hid anything.

"So, does the Father know about it?" Marek asked making both girls groan. "What, I'm just asking."

"It was a freakin one night Stand." Emerald growled. This guy was actually fuckin nosey, now She changed her mind about jumping him. She wanted to punch him in the face. But that face though, cute huh? shut up. Her mind taunted.

"It wouldn't have been a one night Stand though if you didn't want it to be." Xiao hui Said.

"Oh please." Emerald rolled her eyes. She had thought the guy was Spanish and then he had ended up being Ukranian. It's not like She didn't like Ukranians, f**k, She was learning their language, it's just, She had had eyes on Alex because She had thought he was from Spain. She just loved Spanish men, thats all.

"I mean, C'mon, he asked to take your number and you refused." Xiao hui Said.

"That's until I found out he wasn't a Spaniard." Emerald said irritably. For fuckssake.

"Haha, you girls are so funny." Marek Said as he watched the girls argue back and forth. What type of girl was Emerald?

"By the way, My boyfriend is coming in 5 minutes." Xiao hui announced making Emerald roll her eyes. She didn't like Roma at all. He was an angry person and She hoped her relationship with Xiao hui never last.

"Should I be ready to fight?" Marek asked with a grin. And Yes, Roma was also a very jealous person, he was practically jealous of her relationship with Xiao hui. He always said they were lesbians. Maybe he was kidding, but Emerald just didn't care if he was kidding or not. She just didn't like him, end of story.

"Umm, No need." Xiao hui assured Marek as the door bell rang and Xiao hui opened it. He was with a friend, who he introduced as they sat down immediately to drink. Emerald's wall automatically went up and her mood became even worse. She had always avoided him at all cost. So She withdrew back in her own shell and smiled a little as the others made small talk with Marek and then She finished her drink and said Goodnight to Xiao hui. She went to sleep but could still hear their voices. She wished they could just finish quickly and go. She vaguely heard Roma ask Xiao hui what was wrong with her and Xiao hui replied that Emerald was mad at him because of two days before when he barged into the apartment and shouted at her. Roma replied something which Emerald didn't hear and wasn't going to bother to find out. She just wished for sleep to take her immediately, and being a little drunk, She fell asleep like a baby, although She kept waking up in the night. Her bed was really uncomfortable, it felt like She was sleeping on the floorboards. Thank God it wasn't winter yet.
