Hey, how is your day? Emerald read the message from Marek and smiled. It was around 3:00pm when her class was about to begin. She replied him that it was all good. She asked him what he was going to do for the day and he replied that he had no idea. He had a program to meet Xiao hui's other Polish ex so they could talk business. They chatted back and forth for some time then later agreed where to meet. Emerald, like every weekday would leave work at 5pm then meet Marek at the subway near the apartment.

Okay then, see you later. Class time.

Emerald texted Marek then turned her phone to silence. Afternoon time rushed so fast. The class began at 3:15 and soon it was 5pm and time to go home.

Emerald finished classes and she was immediately rushing to go out. Her mood was a bit lightened although she couldn't help feeling how she felt because of her situation. Seeing Marek and connecting had sort of made her feel good. She texted him that She was done with her classes and told him to meet her at Liudaoko station. She entered the subway and went towards Liudaoko. He texted her that he was already inside. Xiao hui sent Emerald a voice note asking her to take him at Lush restaurant and bar. It was a place where Xiao hui's cousin held open mic karaoke. Emerald agreed and walked towards where Marek was. She had to show him how he could buy a ticket in chinese. She found him waiting and when he saw her, he hugged her again. He didn't know why, but he just couldn't help himself. He found his Hands wandering to her skin, it was so smooth and he wondered if She shaved everyday. Question for another time. He noted down. "Hey there."

"Hi yourself, how was your day?" She asked.

"Oh, not bad actually." Xiao hui had taken him for a ride around the Tian'anmen Square on her bike and that had ended not so good with her boyfriend having a jealous fit. She had told him she had classes then he had found out she didn't actually have classes so he had called her shouting and threatening. They had cut short the trip and Xiao hui had dropped Marek off at Liudaoko station and had gone off to her classes.

"Woah, what a jerk!" Emerald said. She didn't know if she would ever like Roma again or even be comfortable with him but she respected Xiao hui's wish and decision. He was her boyfriend not Emerald's. "On the bright side though, atleast you saw some good part of China." She added and he laughed in agreement.

"Sure thing. So, where are we going?" He asked.

"Have you eaten?" She asked and he affirmed, he had had lunch. "Okay then, First, We will go around, I'll show you the subway stations that you are most likely to use as long as you are here, then we will go have dinner then to open mic at Lush then go see Luca. That was Xiao hui's Polish ex boyfriend. Actually, whenever Xiao hui and Emerald mentioned Xiao hui's exs, Luca never always crossed their minds. He was like once in a lifetime thing.

They entered the subway and Emerald showed him how to buy a subway ticket in Chinese then they swiped their cards and took the escalators down to the train. They entered and sat down, Marek's hand immediately rested on her thigh, She froze and her eyes discreetly went to him then to the hand. He didn't even seem to notice what he had done. She let it sit there with an excuse that at least She was wearing long pants. He kept asking her questions about the subway stops and his hand could move sometimes up and down then stop. Emerald wondered if he knew what he was doing or he just wanted to see her reaction.

Finally their station arrived and Emerald got up quickly getting away from the hand that had started a fire inside her. He followed her while they went to have dinner at a nearby restaurant in Wudaoko, but both of them didn't really feel like eating so they ate a little and around 9:30 pm Emerald told him they could go to the open mic. They entered, Emerald always came with Xiao hui and they always arrived late when people were a bit less and too drunk. This time people were so many and they were still energetic. The music was so loud. Emerald looked at Marek, he didn't seem to like the place at all but he didn't complain. She excused herself and went to the bathroom then returned and found that he had bought a beer and a mojito. She really hadn't wanted to drink since tomorrow She was going to the hospital.

The doctor had told her not to eat or drink anything after 10pm. "So Sorry I forgot." He said looking Sorry.

"Oh, its fine. I'll drink anyway." She brushed him off then called Xiao hui's cousin Thierry over, he was a key boardist, guitar player and open mic host. "Thierry, Hi. Xiao hui wanted you to meet Marek, her former boyfriend." She couldn't help adding that. The guys said Hi to eachother and Emerald went to her phone. She was talking to Alex about tomorrow and was making sure he's going to keep his word. She sent him the location of the hospital and turned to look up. Marek was staring at her, there were questions in his eyes. She smiled, "Sorry, just talking to this guy. Making sure he will show."

"So, he's not your boyfriend?" Marek asked.

"Heck no." She looked mad, even irritated.

"Don't worry, it will be Okay."

"Yeah, it will." She just wanted to get her life back. Being pregnant without a partner or someone close you could trust was the worst experience. Her phone pinged and She saw a message from Luca. "Luca is at AiBeer, Can we go meet him there?"

"Right away, this place is too noisy." He stood up. Eager much! Emerald groaned. "How far is it though?" Marek asked.

"Just 2 minutes from here." He answered and they went out. He put his arm around her shoulder, She was a 5 feet 0" to his 6 feet 2". She felt like a baby around him. Well, she's more than 5 years younger than you! His conscious said. The streets were full of people and he was seeing foreigners everywhere for the first time since he came to China. He kinda felt better seeing them. She showed him AiBeer and they entered.

Emerald saw Luca and ran to hug him, Marek's heart squeezed, they seemed so cozy with eachother. Emerald looked happy to see him, they talked for some time then turned to Marek. Luca was a normal looking guy, he didn't scare him, they greeted eachother in Polish and sat down. He expected to talk business with this guy, since he had stayed here long enough maybe he had a clue what would be on market. They ordered beers which Emerald obviously refused and they talked. Minutes later, the topic had turned to Xiao hui. Marek was mad, why would this guy think he wanted to talk about Xiao hui. Just because they shared the same girlfriend didn't mean anything. His relationship and Xiao hui was long forgotten. He finished his drink and told Emerald they should go.

Emerald who was totally in her own world stood up. She had told them they could speak in their language to discuss freely and clearly. She hugged Luca again and they went out.

"So, how did it go?" Emerald asked.

"He's not what I expected, he looks like a creep." Marek Said. "All he wanted was to talk about Xiao hui, what the hell."

"Haha, that's Luca for you. He's not that bad though." Emerald said.

"Let's just go home." Marek Said.

"Hmm, nice that you're calling it home already." Emerald grinned making Marek smile. She seemed to be in a good mood tonight. She called a taxi and they went home.
