[Georgina's POV]
I suddenly wanted to crawl back to where I came from before this whole thing happened.
One look at what was currently waiting for me outside of the car, I knew that this was not going to be a bit good. It had me recounting all of the decisions I made that had led me up to this moment. Damn... I wished I had known this was how it will be. I grimaced as soon as the car engine died and the driver in front of me briefly gave me a glance through the rearview mirror. Without another word, Kieran was the first one to get out of the car. Surprisingly, we did not have to deal with the traffic during the whole ride and it only took less than half an hour to get to Kieran's place. I knew this place since I had already stalked him for the past few days.
As the door closed with Kieran waiting outside, I contemplated first while trying to think it all through once more. Am I really signing myself up for this? For real? I looked out of the window, my hand just stayed glued above the door handle. I did not even realize how bad I was hesitating until I noticed that one of my legs had been shaking so terribly. The driver must have seen what I looked like because I heard him stifling his laughter from his seat. He was waiting for me to get out of the car too. I glanced towards the other window from the other side of the backseat and saw Kieran just standing nonchalantly with his back leaning over the side of the car. He was even smoking a cigarette... Wow.
I felt kind of cheap at this point. Do I really have to do this now? But then again, I did not want Kieran to think that I was chickening out so I toughen up and finally opened the door on my side. I closed it behind me with a little bit of force, startling Kieran as he stood straight and turned towards me. I kept my poker face on. He merely smirked, removed the cigarette from his lips, and threw it on the ground. That was not nice though. But my attention was quickly stolen again when he gestured with his hand for me to walk first. I obliged. I already knew what floor he was staying on. At this moment, I no longer care if I acted too brazen and bold. I just simply want to be over and done with this now. The thought that this was all just a trap lingered inside my head as we got inside the elevator and Kieran pushed the button on his floor.
The driver of his car was no longer with us. It was just the two of us inside the lift while I watched the change of numbers on the side of the elevator doors.
Kieran started whistling... Sounding as if nothing was out of the ordinary. As soon as the doors dinged open, I walked out without saying a word, looking quite too confident as I walked down the long hallway, glancing at the door numbers left and right. Being inside the building was quite different from how it looked if you're outside and just trying to take a peek at the rooms. I had a little confusion with the room numbers until I finally managed to find the right one. Once I did, I stopped and waited. Kieran just stepped quietly behind me and stood right in front of the door that I was facing. I peered at him and he raised a brow at me. I simply shrugged and looked away, not even hiding the way my lips smirked at his expression.
I heard him chuckling softly as he swiped his keycard and the door beeped open.
I waited for him to enter the room first. Kieran paused suddenly and turned, pushing the door wide open like a gentleman, letting me in with that smile on his face. It looked suspicious for me though. But I confidently ignored him and stepped into the doorway. I did not stop even after mumbling a "thank you" at him. I led myself into the room until I finally reached the spacious living room. The lights went brighter as Kieran turned on the switch. The place was exquisite and conservatively clean. It was like something torn out of a magazine. I don't think he has ever really stayed here that much other than just to sleep and rest. It was too neat and organized. Seeing it all firsthand made me wonder where the cat was at the moment.
I turned around to face Kieran but I found him walking his way towards the huge kitchen behind us. He took his time trying to prepare something to drink and when he noticed me watching him from where I stood, he gave me another one of those mesmerizing smiles.
"Make yourself at home, Miss Georgina," was what came out of his lips.
I don't know what it was but something just got me feeling flushed. And my stomach warmed upon hearing him say that in a really lowered and seductive voice. I was not sure if he did that deliberately to tease me or what, but I did not like the feeling it gave me. I quickly turned my back on him and took a deep breath. That totally caught me off guard and I inwardly cursed myself for being so. I should be more prepared. I had to keep my walls up. Damn. That was dangerous too.
I took a deep breath, mentally composing myself as I sensed Kieran walking his way back to the living room. He was still smiling as he handed me a glass of something. I frowned at it and gave him a look instead, without accepting the drink.
"It's not alcohol," he explained. And as I watched him drink the glass he had in his other hand, I quietly took the one he was handing towards me. But I did not drink it.
I was still suspicious... And I knew better not to be easily distracted.
