Although ebuka wasn't bothered by the issue, because he believes that the God be served is not asleep. But Nkechi's case is different. she got insulted anywhere she trade her feet, soon people started addressing her as a witch who used her womb for her beauty. while some called her maami š.
Nkechi would cry to sleep every night, that she refused to eat something. her husband would comfort her and console her, telling her not to forget the story of Hannah, Sarah, and also Elizabeth. he gave details on the results of their faith and patience.
Soon ebuka was able to persuade her, that she ate something and slept well with hope for a child.
The next day, her father in law came to pay them a visit, she welcomed him with joy, hiding her pain, but he not only answered her greetings but also added an insult to it by calling her a fruitless tree.
Nkechi was hurt by his attitude towards her, but she shielded it with a wry smile.
