"But you have to! You're the only person I trust, Lucas. And I trust you to the company. I know you can do it more than I can do."
"Grandma... We've talked about this already, right?"
"You have to do what I want from now on."
"I won't," Glenda glared at Lucas with a sigh of disbelief.
"You're disobeying me again, Lucas! What's gotten into you?" she asked him. She looked at her grandson, waiting for him to talk and explain why he didn't want to inherit the company.
"I'll marry her. I will marry Celine before I handle the company. If that's what you want, I'll do it, but I'll marry Celine first."
Glenda couldn't believe what she heard from Lucas. She let out a deep breath and sighed in disbelief while staring at him.
"What are you thinking, Lucas? You have just met this girl, but why do you want to marry her right away? Do you know that marriage is a big responsibility? You have a big responsibility when you do that, Clemente. Remember, it won't be as easy as you imagined. Your life will not go on easily even if you have money. Marriage isn't a game you play, you have to take it seriously," his grandmother reminded him.
"I know that," and he immediately looked back at the book he was reading. She sighed while shaking her head. Glenda then went out of his room with a sigh.
"So stubborn," she said before she finally left the hospital.
Lucas thought of his Grandma. She's the only one Lucas had, and he doesn't want to lose her. He sighed as he looked at the door. Lucas was holding his favorite book and he slowly placed it at the bedside.
Lucas immediately thought of what his Grandma had said. Lucas just wanted to get the money to buy the car that he wanted. It's a customized car, and only he himself will have such a style of car and nothing like it. It costs a billion, so Lucas really wants to get the money. It's not that he's a gold digger, but all he wanted was to get that damn car.
Meanwhile, Celine was with Aron. She looked at him and thanked him for his help. "Thank you so much, Aron. I would never have done it if it wasn't for you."
"It's no big deal."
"It is. You lied because of me. I'm sorry, I got you in trouble again."
"It's okay."
Celine never thought of someone like Aron being this considerate. She pouted her lips while looking at him. "I'm really thankful to you, Aron. I will never forget your kindness," Aron smiled at her.
"Forget it. Having you beside me and being a good friend to me is enough, Celine. Being alive is what is important."
Celine couldn't speak because she didn't know why Aron reacted like that. He was so sincere while saying those things. Aron was still looking at her while Celine looked away. She felt awkward as she could see out of the corner of her eye, and she could feel Aron's every stare at her.
Celine immediately walked away from Aron and took care of the other customers. He stared at her from a distance, but he could see his ex again while looking at Celine. Aron shook his head and averted his gaze at her.
"Stop this nonsense, Aron. She will never be her. She's dead, and she will never come back," Aron said to himself with a sigh, and continued to do his job.
"Get a grip on yourself, Celine. Aron is just a kind person. There's no meaning to all what he has done to you," she said to herself with a sigh. Celine had a drunk customer.
"Sir, can I get your order?" she asked.
"You. I want you," Celine's eyes widened at what he had said.
"Sir, what can I get you?" Celine asked him again, but the man was about to touch her when Celine avoided him.
"Sir, you're being-"
"What? Isn't this your job? You have to entertain us!" the man raged, which caused them to look in their direction. Aron looked at Celine, and then he immediately got closer.
"Sir, what happened? Can I ask what the problem is here?" Aron asked calmly.
"This woman! She's playing hard to get. Isn't it her job to entertain customers?" the man asked, which caused Aron's fists to clench.
"Excuse me, Sir. This woman is a cocktail waitress. We never entertain rude guests like you. Also, this bar isn't the kind of bar where you find a woman dancing and taking her home. This is a fancy yet decent bar. So, we don't tolerate rude guests like you, Sir. You can leave now, the door is open for you to exit," the man glared at Aron as he clenched his fists. He stood and was about to punch him, but Aron avoided it.
The people were surprised as they saw the scandalous scene. Celine was in the center while looking at both of them. She realizes that Aron always gets in trouble because of her, and it makes her guilty. She looked down as she locked her hands together.
The man was about to make another attack on Aron, but he avoided it again and held his wrist. Aron was holding his wrist so tight, and he groaned in pain.
"What are you doing? Am I a customer, and you're just an employee!" he raged.
"Yes, I may be an employee to your sight, but without us, no one would serve you a drink. Do you get it?" Aron uttered.
The people inside the bar agreed with what Aron had said. They nodded their heads while looking at them. Aron stared at the drunk customer while still holding his wrist.
"Let me go! Don't you know me?" he raged. Celine got closer to Aron.
"That's enough, Aron. What if you get in trouble again?" she whispered to him. Aron turned his back and saw Celine's puppy eyes, and it seemed like it was telling him to let him go.
Aron glared at the man before he finally let him go. The man immediately grabbed his hand and looked badly at Aron, and he seemed to remember his face.
"You'll regret what you've done," the drunk man uttered and went out of the bar. Aron looked at the people around him.
"We're sorry for that inconvenience," Aron uttered as he bowed his head to them. Everyone seemed to understand the situation as they had been knowing the bar for a long time. It was the first time that someone did that. That man seemed to be a new customer at the bar.
Aron and Celine went back to the counter. She looked at him with a sigh, as if she was embarrassed. It happened because of her. "I'm sorry," Aron looked at her with a frown.
"For what?"
"For causing another problem again. I'm really sorry."
"I said it's fine. No big deal. I had to protect you earlier as he was a perverted customer."
"Alright. I get it, but I wanted to say sorry for all the trouble I caused you, Aron. You're a good man, and I think you didn't deserve all this," Celine said to herself while looking at Aron. Celine felt guilty for all the things he had been through because of her. She sighed while looking down. Celine was feeling down as her shoulders lowered.
Celine thinks everyone that's close to her becomes unlucky because of all the trouble she gets into. Aron continued mixing drinks while she looked at him. "I'm sorry. You're so kind to me, and I think you didn't deserve all this kind of treatment. You have to be happy and live a normal life like you usually had."
After their duty, Celine and Aron walked together out of the bar. She was looking at the road as she was too ashamed to look into Aron. Aron noticed that she was silent as they walked together.
"Hey, are you okay?" he asked her. Celine looked at him with surprise.
"Ah, yes?"
"Are you okay?" he asked her again.
"Ah, yes. I am," Celine answered, but Aron noticed and knew that she wasn't fine.
Celine was about to take another step when Aron held her wrist to stop her. She stopped walking and turned her back on him. Celine looked at him with sincere eyes.
"Yes?"
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"No. Nothing's wrong."
"Tell me. What is it?" he asked.
Celine sighed and faced him. "I felt sorry for you."
"What? Why?"
"I keep bringing trouble to you, Aron. I can't afford to see you suffer like this. You're innocent."
"I wanted to help you. They said we have to help our fellow countrymen if they need your help. That's why I helped you," he replied.
"But, your help is too much, Aron. I can't repay you for your kindness."
"I didn't ask you to repay me, Celine. All I ask is you to-" he stopped what he was about to say when someone bumped into Celine.
"Hey, watch where you're going, dude," Aron said as he caught Celine before she lost her balance.
Her chest started to pound fast while staring at his eyes. Those innocent and beautiful eyes. It seemed to capture her heart.
"What's happening to me?" she asked herself. Celine didn't know what was happening to her. It was all of a sudden, the sudden fastening of her heartbeat.
"What is this?"
