Her chest started to pound fast while staring at his eyes. Those innocent and beautiful eyes. It seemed to capture her heart.
"What's happening to me?" she asked herself. Celine didn't know what's happening to her. It was all of a sudden, the sudden fasten of her heartbeat.
"What is this?" Celine asked herself as Aron's hands were still on her waist, helping her to not lose her balance. While Celine was looking at Aron, Aron was looking at the man who ran into Celine. Her heart kept beating fast, she couldn't even explain how she felt as Aron held her.
"Are you okay?" Aron immediately asked her, and she hurriedly stood up properly. She averted her gaze at him as her chest continued to throb hard.
They continued walking while they did not speak to each other. Until they arrived at the apartment, Celine was still silent and went to her room. She leaned her back against the wall.
"What's wrong with you, Celine? You have dreams to achieve and you still need to keep all your promises! I can't fall in love with him. He's a good friend of mine, and I don't want to ruin our friendship just because of my flickering feelings! " she scolded herself while still leaning against the wall.
Aron went to his room and looked at the picture frame where his Ex-girlfriend was. "She really looked like you, and I'm starting to like her. The way I liked you before," he sighed as he tosses himself to his bed. Looking at the top, Aron remembered all the things he had done with the woman she loved. It was romantic and chilling, it was warm, and he finds comfort with her.
The following day, it was a sunny day. The sunlight strikes Celine's eyes, which caused her to wake up and got up from her bed. Celine was about to go to the bathroom when she received a call from Lucas. Her eyes widened as she answered the call.
"Hello?" she replied in a drowsy voice.
"Are you still sleepy?" Lucas asked her over the phone.
"Why? Why are you calling me early this morning?"
"I need you to come here," Celine let out a deep breath.
"Alright. I'm on my way," she ended the call and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower. After Celine took a bath, she walked towards the cabinet where her clothes were. She was lazy to pick some clothes, and she didn't feel like leaving the house, but Lucas needed her.
After dressing up, she went out of her room and saw Aron was cooking breakfast. "Where are you headed to?" he asked as if he doesn't want her to go.
"I'm going to meet that man," she uttered with a sigh. Celine was about to walk, but Aron talk.
"Let's go together,"
"What? Why?"
"I should bring this breakfast to him too. It will be put into the trash bins if we didn't eat this," Celine nodded with a smile and helps Aron to pack the breakfast.
They ride a taxi to the hospital. Celine was beside Aron while looking outside the window. He smiled as he remembered that his Ex-girlfriend used to do that too when they're inside the car. She doesn't like the smell of the air condition, that's why on their long ride, Aron left the windows open instead of using air condition inside the car.
At the moment they arrived at the hospital, Celine and Aron got off of the taxi and went inside. She was walking with a gloomy face, Celine looks tired, and she looked like she's forced to do it.
Celine stopped walking in a door with a deep sigh before she holds the doorknob and opened it.
"You're here!" Lucas greeted her, but he was surprised to see Aron with her.
"Are you with him?" he asked Celine.
"He's here to have breakfast together. Have you eaten?"
"No,"
"Alright. He cooked some breakfast. Make sure to love them," she said as she slowly took off the cover from the Tupperwares and placed it on his bedside table.
"This one is yours, and this is ours," Celine uttered and walked towards the table. She placed the food on the table and sat down on the sofa with Aron. Lucas looked at them with a scoff as he couldn't believe what he was looking at.
"Hey, you're my fiance, but why are you doing this?" they both looked at him, and Aron chuckles.
"What's funny about what I said?"
"I know the truth, Lucas. You and Celine aren't a real couple. You're just pretending so that you-"
"Stop, enough! You told him about us?" Lucas asked her unbelievably. Celine nodded her head and continued to eat. Lucas scoffed again because he was the only one who was ignorant of the events going on around him. He bared his teeth while looking at them. He also immediately ate the food next to him, but his eyes still could not be removed from the two of them.
Aron and Celine chatted happily while eating, but Lucas just stared at the two of them from his bed. After he eat his food, he placed the plate on the bedside angrily, but they didn't even pay attention to him. Lucas went back to his bed, and he was about to lay down and take some rest, but the two laughed, and Lucas immediately lay down on his bed and hid under his blanket. He was annoyed to see the two of them happy, Lucas seemed to be jealous of the two of them being close.
"Why are they being so noisy?" he angrily asked himself, and he moved side by side, trying to sleep even though he still heard their laughter. And it gets to the point where Lucas can no longer handle their noise. He got up from his bed and glared at them.
"What the hell is this! You two are being noisy! Can't you see? I'm trying to sleep!" Lucas's shout at the two of them angrily, caused them to be silent. He gasped for breath as he went back to lay down on his bed.
Celine bared her teeth while looking at him. She stood and was about to walk out, but Lucas spoke again. "I need to talk to you,"
"Yes, what is it?"
"In private," Aron smiled at Celine as he understood what Lucas was supposed to mean. He went out of his room.
When Aron got out, Lucas opened his eyes and looked at Celine. "Are you sure you're going to do the wedding with me?" he asked her.
"Yes. Whatever you say,"
"Really?"
"Yes,"
"Why?" Celine looked at him.
"I'm willing to help you, okay? But, the contract says no strings attached, so... we can live our own life back again after one year. Don't you remember?"
"Of course. I remembered every detail on the contract,"
"Then, we're good then. We have to pretend in front of your Grandma to get your money, and also I can get mine, right?" she asked him, and he nodded his head.
"But, remember this Lucas. You can't put love into a contract,"
"So, don't do you dare have any romantic feelings for me in the future. Let's keep our distance, so none of us will be able to near temptation," Celine reminded him.
"Alright. I get it,"
"Good. I'll get going then,"
"The wedding... It will happen next month," Celine stopped walking when she heard that. She let out a deep breath and smiled as she turned her back at him. "Okay,"
Celine then walked away from him. When Celine got out of his room, she then saw Aron talking to a nurse at the front desk. "I can't be in love with Aron. He's just a friend. He's just a friend," she repeatedly uttered to herself.
Aron saw her and went closer to her. "Shall we go now?"
"Ah, yes. I'm sorry to keep you waiting,"
"No, it's okay,"
They walked together outside the hospital, Lucas got up slowly as he went to the window to see her with him. He sighed while looking at them happily chatting outside. "They look so good together," he uttered with jealousy.
Lucas was just looking at them from the window when the door suddenly opened, and Mark and Christian entered. "How're the things going between you two?" Mark asked Lucas because he saw Celine with another man on the road.
"We're fine. We're doing fine," he answered.
"I just found out that your Grandma seems to be doubting about Celine. I think we should get the two of you married and live under one roof. What can you say?" Christian said.
"I don't know,"
"Why?"
"Are you giving up on that billion dollars, Lucas?" Mark asked.
"I can't do anything from now. Look, I'm still recovering," he replied with disappointment.
"Dude, we need that money to build our agency. Didn't you remember what we work hard for?" Christian asked him.
"Alright. Let's do this wedding,"
To be continued...
