Asher’s POV “Hello, son,” my father showed up as soon as I entered my cabin. Now, who let this old man show up like this? He is going to nag me to hand my business to someone else as he thinks I am incapable just because I am holding a secret. Well, I stop giving him a single damn otherwise, I fear I would end up getting miserable. “How are you son?” “I was fine until a few moments ago.” My whole good mood spoiled seeing this man. Well, the reason behind my good mood was Aurora Carter. She was an interesting woman. The funny encounter with her is hard to forget. Also, I couldn't understand why I gave her advice when she got upset with the guy who was behaving like a dirtbag with her? Gosh! Dirtbag! Am I using her language? Here I thought I would toy with her but she is toying with me. And why did I wait for her? I ambled to different classes to see her so I can get to see her reaction after finding out with whom she took the advice. And when she came to me, I was jumping like a teenager. For God's Sake, I am 28 years old. Shaking my head and mentally slapping myself, I sat on the couch, taking coffee in my hand, and sipped the coffee without considering my so-called father's presence. “With whom are you sleeping nowadays? Is she the reason behind your smile?” He asked, squinting his lids. Smile? Was I smiling because of that foolish girl? I negatively shook my head and shrugged my shoulders. “I hope she is from a wealthy family at least unlike your roadside chicks and yes, don't trust reporters.” “Reporter?” I crossed my leg and kept it on the table and rolled my eyes. “Just giving you advice. Well, son, I am here for important work.” He stood and kept his hand over my shoulder and leaned towards my ears. “Where were you last night? Drunk or doing something problematic. If you are causing some trouble, let me know.” “Do you care about me now? Gosh! Don't show any fake care to me. And just blurt for what you came?” “Okay! I am coming on the point,” he moved towards the window, sided curtains, smirking at me “Your younger brother is coming after two months, so I want you to guide him then and give this business to him as he deserves this business including your company.” “After it, you should move to a different country and live a quiet life. Also, you need to stop your one-nightstand. It would bring chaos.” I fisted my hand and looked away controlling my rage. “By the way, I have heard you are missing your medications. Has your condition improved? Or it went worse.” Listening to his words, I couldn't control my rage, I slammed my hands over the table and stood. “Do you think I would give my business to your son? Never, this is my business, and I will rule it like a true king as for eight years I am handling this business. Your business was not even worth a single penny but I made it worth 100,000 billion dollars.” “With each passing second, the worth is increasing only so don't even think that I would give this business to any of your roadside sons.” He clenched his fist and tried to raise his hand but I held his collar and pulled him towards myself. “Don’t even think about slapping me ever. I am no more than that pathetic 15 years old guy who was afraid of you. I won't think even for a second before killing you and keeping your head as a trophy on my table.” Listening to my words, his face flushed up. Fear was easily visible on his face as his forehead dipped in sweat and lines were drawn there. “And about my one-night stands, don't give me a lecture, at least I don't r**e them like you. And we both know who causes chaos in the business.” Father furrowed his brows and held my hand to free himself. “Don’t try to scare me. Don't forget about the raid,” he attempted to say with fake courage. “Come on, father, don't I know who caused the raid in my company.” “It was you, and you did it so I can come to you to beg to save my company. So you could show your fake mercy exchange of handing my everything to your son,” I curled my lips and leaned towards his ears. “However, my beloved father, I became more intelligent than you. So stop your tricks as these won't work on me.” “And yes, I hope you realize what happens to me when I lose my control. So go otherwise I won't even remember where I would have to find your body so I can get my trophy.” He pushed me and ran from there. I breathed heavily and held my head. “Where is my medicine?” I attempted to move towards my drawer but before I could have done so I felt drowsy. “Useless, fake,” such words began to play in my ears, giving me a severe headache. “Take my help. I would kill him for you just like I did in the past.” I held the wall and crouched in the corner and kept my hands over my ears. ***************** Aurora's POV “Sorry Aura, but I have to go. My father has called me. He met with an accident, so I have to cancel our movie plan. You keep the ticket and call Macey,” Marcus said, hanging the call as I looked at him with surprise. “But Marcus.” I wanted to say that his father is not in Queen, so where is he going in such haste. Why is he lying? “Please understand, I have to go,” Marcus left handing tickets to me as I hummed. I sighed and stared at the tickets. What am I supposed to do? I can't even call Macey as she must be busy with her cafe. Sighing in sadness, I turned to move away from the cinema's hall but the next second, I widened my eyes seeing a man standing in front of me with a mask over his face. He moved towards me causing me to stagger. “Who are you-u?” “Don’t get scared, it is me,” a familiar voice hit my ears. He lifted his hand in the air and moved back. “Mr. Patrick?” I wiped my sweat and calmed my breath and gave a fake smile to him but soon my lips curled up noticing blue eyes and hair; Alvis. “You hurt me by taking that name? Also, I am angry at you,” Alvis said, furrowing his brows. “Your voice is similar to him though the accent is different. You sound British and on the other side, he sounds proper American.” Alvis turned his face and was about to go without saying anything. “Is there any other reason than this behind your anger? Or showing me a tantrum because I am powerless?” Alvis eyed me and then turned his head. “What is wrong with you? At least tell me what I did wrong?” “I don't like that man so don't compare with me. Neither he is me nor I am him.” “Gosh! Are you jealous of him? He is not worth your jealousy as you are a good guy unlike him,” I shook my head and wrapped my hands across my chest. He shrugged his shoulders and kept his eyes at the ground. “Why are you wearing this mask? Remove it, I want to see how this jealous guy looks” “I am used to it. If I remove this, all will chase me.” “I don't understand what you are saying but it is okay. What are you doing here?” “I can ask the same,” he narrowed his eyes as I smiled faintly. “My boyfriend took me here for a movie date but he got a call.” “Do you have a boyfriend? Does he love you? Did he promise to protect you? If yes, where was he last night?” Alvis slouched his shoulders and fixed his gaze at his sports shoes. “Do you like sports?” I asked, so I could avert the topic. I don't know but nowadays I find it hard to answer this question. I love Marcus but does he love me? If yes, why did he never come to protect me? “Yes, I wanted to be a baseball player but let's not talk about all this,” Alvis sighed, turning his gaze. “Fine if you say so but where did you run last night?” I looked at him to get an answer as I got curious about Asher and his relationship. Are they siblings as their eyes are similar? “Did something happen after I went?” Alvis asked with concern. “What would happen to me? I asked because you disappear like that. So I wondered if you were fine or not. I even looked for you for an hour.” “Thank you,” Alvis said, holding my hands. I got a bit hesitant as I don't like getting touched by strangers but I couldn't pull my hands feeling the painful emotion in his tone. “How did you get wounded? Did you fight with anyone?” To be continued.
