"You've been looking at that Mia girl all week Trey seriously can I have one night where you actually are interested in me "

Caitlin has been biting my ear off all day. I thought we could just hang out but looks like Caitlin wants to be more than just friends.

But no now Caitlin has started to hang around me all the time it's like everywhere I go she shows up. I should probably stop announcing where I'm going to be from now on.

" who are you even talking about " I turn from checking my phone where a bunch of messages are currently waiting for my answer.

"Like you don't know who I'm talking about, I'm not stupid, " she says standing in front of me.

That's a debatable subject I must admit. The stare she gave me I'm guessing she knew what I was thinking.

She acts stupid but somewhere in there, she's got a brain. That's kind of what attracted me to her.

But as soon as I asked her out she started acting dumb around me and the lads.

I was about to say something but my phone distracted me. Sally's name was flashing on the screen. With a watchful eye on cait, I moved into the next room and pressed answer.

"calm down sally what's going on," I ask on the phone. her voice sounds alarmed and I can barely understand what she's saying.

"Trey I can't, I " sally tries to say although I am still not managing to get any information from her at all. I tried calling out to her but I wasn't getting anything remotely sounding like an English word.

I heard some shuffling around before I heard a completely different voice.

"Hi Trey it's Mia" to say I was shocked was an understatement. A smile suddenly appears and I should probably face the other way from cait before she starts to think of anything. I don't know like blowing my head off.

"Mia hey what's going on is sally alright" I get straight to the point because frankly, she must feel awkward right now, she barely speaks to me personally let alone over the phone.

"not really you should get down to the hospital, Richard was in a car accident," she says getting to the point as well. well at least were on the same lines.

"can you message me the address," I ask her as I quickly rush to out my shoes on.

After getting the address I rush out of cait's house telling her I have an emergency. She tries to hold me back but I couldn't care less. I removed my arm out of her hold and ran over to my car.

Sally and Richard aren't my real parents but they kind of are, they took me in when I was at my lowest and over the summer they made sure that I was free from all the trouble and finally in college.

A year ago, I wouldn't have imagined I'd be studying business in the college and free from trouble.

They agreed to watch out for me until I turned 18 which is already gone but I decided to stay with them, which made them very happy.

We are looking for an apartment for myself though since I wanted to learn how to take care of myself you know.

Mia's pov

That call was not as nerve racking as I thought. When I heard, sally trying to speak to him I built up the courage and took the phone from her and decided to tell him instead.

We were in the hospital waiting room, patiently waiting for the news on Richard.

My uncle said he had to do something so he ran off for a few minutes, that just left myself, sally and Richard's sister and her daughter.

Richard was driving down the road when he was hit from the side by a driver who went through a red light.

The police have already started questioning the man and luckily for Richard, he will be able to get compensation.

We all are just hoping that Richard will be okay when I see him through the hospital windows it was a sore sight.

From the looks of it, Richard had injured his right side of his body because of the impact. They've done tests and now they're operating on him something about his ribs.

When I look up I spot his leather jacket instantly. He walks in with his backpack on his back and a couple of coffee's in his hand.

A smile makes its way on my face. How thoughtful of him.

He advanced towards sally and wraps his arms around her shoulders. She cries into his chest as he is significantly taller than she is.

But isn't he with everyone.

"richard is strong he will get through this Sal, I spoke to the police and the other driver had a few other offences they've arrested him now, " he tells her. She has this relieved expression before sitting down in one of the seats.

Suddenly he turns to me, "Mia" oh wow he knows my real name.

Now is not the time for sarcastic comments Mia he came didn't he.

"I got you a hot chocolate" he says reaching the cup out for me to take. I stare at the cup before looking at him weirdly. Why did he get me anything?

"just take it, Mia, I'm sure you're thirsty since you've been waiting here," he says this chest rising slightly.

He relaxes when he sees me reach out and take the cup from his hand. I wasn't going to let him stand there, and I could tell he was getting impatient due to the way his foot tapped against the hard hospital floor.

"Thanks" I say, this seems to calm him down.

I stood in the same place with the warm drink warming my hands. Trey and everyone else was shocked when they saw the contents of my cup spilling all over the floor.

"Mia", a deep voice says scaring me completely. I look towards the door of the room and spot my uncle standing nervously next to a man that holds the same blue eyes as mine.

A tense atmosphere makes its way around the room and it was about to take a turn for the worst because behind them was the woman that I least expected to turn up here and I really wish she stayed away.

I could even hear Trey behind me whisper "s**t", before he continued to clean up the mess I created on the floor.

Yes, double s**t. By the look on her face she knew exactly who she was looking at. Even from the back she knew.

Even with the strong hatred for my mother, my heart literally fell out my chest when I saw my own mother running out of the room with tears in her eyes.

Jason, or should I say my dad turned and chased the women around the corner, leaving us all a little shocked at the turn of events.
