After the last visit to my dad, I made up my mind to ask him to move to a different location, once I paid off his debts to the casino guys.
It was obvious he was a danger to both my aunt and I. There was no telling he would stop gambling after I offset his debt. He might just inquire more, hoping that I would pay, after using the same line of not wanting to die, with me.
I had read a lot about gambling addicts. They never stop gambling, no matter what it took away from them. Especially if they see someone they can run to, to pay off their debts. They continue to act irresponsibly, hoping they will run to you with their problems any time they arise.
