Kagura's palms were sweating and her breathing grew heavier, her mind racing with when to start the attack. If they messed up the timing, then they could fail their attack. She took a deep breath and nodded towards Matt.
"Uhmm, is this where we're evacuating to?" He asks as he walks out.
Everyone just glares at him out of surprise from the seemingly stupid act he just committed.
"You choose the wrong place to run to." One of the people on guard says as he walks towards Matt.
Just as he was within arms reach of him, he smiles. Before the guy could figure out why he was smiling, Masahiro jumps from Matt's shadow. It was a good surprise attack, but the guy was an upperclassman and was able to block Masahiro's attack. However, Kagura had planned for that and had Ria follow up and hold him to the ground.
"That's a good start, but there are still 5 more enemies left," Kagura notes to herself.
"That was a good surprise attack, but we still have hostages who are in more danger now that you've exposed yourself," A girl notes as she goes to grab one of the hostages but is blocked by an invisible wall.
"What?" She exclaims in surprise.
Before she could get over her shock, her ears begin to ring from a supersonic attack from vincent, and Emiko had reached her and kicked her away. Thanks to Akeno's team counter-attacking so quickly, Haruna was able to get into position and cut off the guards from the hostages with her ice. Shiba ran in and began to lead the hostages out. Now they had the guards surrounded and away from the hostages. The guards smile as they raise up their arms in a forfeit.
"I must say, that was a good attack, who came up with it?" A guy asks.
"I came up with half of it and I assume that AKeno came up with the other half," Kagura replies.
"Yes," Akeno says with a smile.
"What do you mean assume?" He asks.
"We split up into two groups once we left the classroom in order to find you all so we had to coordinate our attacks with no communication." Kagura answers.
The guards were silent from surprise for a while before they smile.
"It seems this class is pretty impressive." The guy notes.
Kazuna, Katusro, and Natsuki were doing better in their fight now that Katsuro could control her power a little better. Kazuna jumps towards Mina but is thrown back down. Matsuro throws some rubble at her as Natsuki comes from the sky. She stops Katsuro's attack and manages to barely dodge Natuski's but Kazuna wasn't going to let up as he attacks immediately after landing.
'shockwave' He exclaims as a barrage of lightning slashes fly towards Mina. She dodges a few of the attacks before one grazes her leg and another hits her directly. She begins to fall from the sky but quickly controls her mind and stabilizes or so she thought but she could feel Katsuro's power surrounding her body and she was thrown to the ground. Kauzna prances on this opportunity and sets his swords above her neck signaling their victory.
"Okay, okay, I give." She exclaims.
Kazuna sheaths his sword and helps her up.
"You all were pretty good, but you surprised me the most Lil sis." She says with a smile.
"It was thanks to Kauzna's advice," she says while blushing from her sister's praise.
"Not just that, but you did a good job using his advice properly and being able to do so in the heat of the moment." Mina states.
"She's right. My advice would have been meaningless if you weren't able to make use of it." Kazuna adds.
Katsuro was silent as she blushed from the praise.
"You were very good too. You were relentless with your attacks." Mina says to Natsuki as she punches his arm.
"Thanks." He replies as he rubs the spot she punched.
"And you Kazuna. Could you explain why you did what you did?" Mina asks.
"I wanted to create situations where everyone could best shine. Ms. Saugoma knows what I'm capable of so I decided to stay here and focus on giving Katsuro and Natsuki a chance to shine by fighting an opponent that Katusro could show she had improved by beating and Natsuki could fight in a favorable environment. I split up Akeno and Kagura so that they could show their leadership skills and ability to come up with a plan. I also gave them a fighting force that could best emphasize that." Kazuna states.
"This kid is probably above most third years in terms of both strength and intellect," Mina notes in her head.
"Mina! You're going to have to clean all of this up!" Ms. Saugoma shouts from the classroom.
"Okay." She responds as her face drains of life and she slowly floats up to begin the repairs.
After a few more minutes, the rest of the class returns to the classroom.
"I'm assuming you found what she was trying to distract us from?" Kazuna asks.
"Yes!" Kagura says with a smile.
She quickly goes over what happened on their end and Kazuna does the same.
"Whoa, I wish I could have watched that," Matt says.
"Katsuro is going to be a serious threat now that she's gotten better with her power," Shiba notes.
"I'm impressed by how much you've grown, Kagura," Kazuna notes.
"Th-thanks," Kagura mutters while blushing.
"Thanks for helping them out RIa," Kauzna whispers to her.
"Whatever," She says while looking away to hide her face.
"Alright class, that was the first day of mid-terms. I know it was quick, but the purpose of the exercise was to see how to all would respond to emergency situations where you have to act quickly and without planning." Ms. Saugoma notes.
"Did class B do the same thing in a different location?" Kagura asks.
"Yes. but speaking of class B, tomorrow we will be having a tournament amongst the classes." She states.
"Like class A against B?" Matt asks.
"No, everyone will be against each other. There won't be a class A or B just you." Ms. Saugoma notes.
"So, I might have to fight Kazuna?" Matt mumbles as his face goes pale.
"Don't worry, I'm sure he'll make it quick," Ayame notes.
"I understand how you all would find it frightening to fight Kazuna, but realize that he isn't the only person in this tournament. There are two classes worth of people and the tournament will be a double elimination so you all will have plenty of chances to shine." Ms. Saugoma notes.
"So even if we're unfortunate enough to face Kauzna in the first round we'll still have a chance to shine," Akeno notes.
"Precisely, so make sure you're on your A-game tomorrow." Ms. Saugoma says.
"right!" They respond with newfound energy.
The rest of the day they were allowed to study for their mid-terms so they picked up where they left off Sunday. Ms. Saugoma headed to the prince[als office in order to talk with her.
"So, how did the other kids do?" She asks as she sits in from of the principal's desk.
"They were quite impressive. I was especially impressed with Kagura's performance. She used to be quite hesitant and although she had the makings of a leader, she was much too indecisive to be a serviceable one. Yet here she took point and led their sneak attack." Principal Asuka notes.
"I see. That Kazuna sure is influential." Ms. Saugoma notes.
"That he is." Ms. Asuka agrees.
