ANOTHER LEADER
Alice went home happy for the first time in many weeks. Sam wasn’t so sure that things had changed for the better. He lay tossing and turning in his bed. There were too many things to think about. Rasper was gone, so what would be next? He couldn’t get out of his mind Fortuna saying, “We’ll never have another leader like him again?” So who was to be the next leader? It wasn’t long before he found out.
There was a knock on his door the next morning. It was Alice. Sam was grumpily making his tea when she thrust a poster under his nose.
“Look! They’re all over the town!”
Sam fumbled for his glasses in his dressing gown pocket.
“I’ll read it to you,” said Alice impatiently. “It says, “Emergency Meeting of the Town Assembly. Fortuna will speak.”
