Julian's POV
Mixed emotions filled me as the door banged shut.
She was angry, I didn't need her words to confirm it, her body language spoke volumes.
She had every right to be angry anyway, I lost my cool when they asked that question. If I keep acting up whenever anything that has to do with Damon comes up she would be suspicious of my actions and I can't have that, it will sabotage the plan.
"Leah" I spoke through the AirPods in my ear.
"Mr.Thorne" she answered immediately.
"Let the director of Story Grid media know that the live meeting will be held by 3pm today, after lunch, as Sienna and I will not be available till next weekend," I said, shocking even myself.
Sienna will definitely not like this, but it is the best and fastest way to get her out again. I can't leave her angry from my actions this morning. I need to clear the air. The only way my plan will work is to break through her walls.
"Okay Sir" She responded just before I ended the call.
Phase one of my plan is in motion and I must do everything to keep to the plan. You wouldn't know what hit you, Sienna.
Sienna's POV
"WHAT THE f**k DO YOU MEAN THE LIVE MEETING HAS BEEN MOVED TO THIS AFTERNOON?" I yelled over the phone once Julian picked up. He had the nerve to send the message to me like he was informing me about something so simple. I barely survived this morning and now he wants to put me through a worse experience, what the hell have I gotten myself into?
"We have lunch at my restaurant before then too, you failed to mention that" he responded infuriating me more.
The audacity of this man.
"Seems you want to go for this meeting on your own" I snapped, already taking the phone out of my ear.
"Blake, wait" he spoke up before I could end the call.
"I am sorry everything feels so rushed, I promise it will all get better as we go on, We just popped up out of nowhere with a relationship, everyone wants to get details, and you know this is part of why I suggested this relationship in the beginning" His voice was softer than it has ever been throwing me off balance.
"Well, you seem to forget this is also new to me" I tried to argue.
"I know, no more meetings and interviews for the weekend after this" He assured.
"Only for the weekend?"
"I can't assure you anything more, and I don't want to have to lie" he answered, his voice still calm and soft he was starting to get scared.
"Fine, I will be at your office before 2" I conceded, I did sign a contract anyway so I have to take whatever this brings.
"And what about Lunch?"
"It's just lunch, nothing else right?"
"Yes, just lunch" he answered, dragging his words out a little, probably wondering why I was asking.
"Good then we should be done eating before the meeting by 3" I concluded.
"Oh, I guess so"
"Bye Julian" I ended the call as my room door was pushed open.
"What made you look so angry?" Lila asked as she made her way in swinging her hips like she owned the place.
She partially did anyway, perks of having a best friend turned sister.
"Oh, nothing much just work stuff" I lied hating myself for it. For these six months, I would prefer to keep conversations about Julian to its bare minimum for the sake of our friendship and the contract too. Lila will lose it if she finds out I have been lying to her and Julian on the other hand will be furious and also be proven right if I breach the confidentiality. I can't have any.
"Hmm, just work stuff?" She hummed to herself heading straight for my closet.
"Did you leave anything in there?" I asked, pushing myself up from my bed quickly to protect my wardrobe. Lila never returns what she takes and somehow she finds that exciting.
"Uhm, I am not so sure, I need to check to be sure," she said in a serious voice, if I hadn't known her since childhood I may have just believed her.
"Yeah, not happening" I blatantly refused to block her path.
"Come on, Sienna, no need to act up I just need a gown for an event this evening and nothing in my wardrobe is going to do the work" she whined, stomping her legs on the ground.
"An event or a date?" I wiggled my browser at her.
"Does it matter?" She shrugged casually. Typical Lila always acting like dates were like the work events she is always attending when she was the one who agreed to the date.
"Yes it does"
"Fine, yes it is a date, I met him on my last trip" she sighed knowing what was coming next.
"See, I knew it. There was something extra about you when you called. You got some D" I squealed, making her smile.
"I have no idea what you are talking about and I don't have time for it either. If I don't start getting ready now, I will be late and unlike you, I actually like to keep to time for my dates" She brushed me off the blush on her cheeks giving her away.
"You are blushing so hard. You really had s*x with whoever Mr.Date is" I yelled excitedly.
"Dress Sienna," She said, her cheeks flushing even more.
"Just because I don't want you to be late, we will continue this conversation later" I finally conceded. She will tell me all about it when she is ready, I am sure of that.
"Thank you, now please can I pass?" She asked, trying to move past me.
"Oh no you can't, come on, let's go to your place, I am sure I can help you find 'the one'" I smiled using air quotes to pass my point across.
"No, I have checked already, come on Sienna don't be this way"
"We both know you didn't even check, you are too lazy to make anything out of your wardrobe and now you are coming for mine that is more put together"
"I will return this one, I promise," she pleaded.
"That's what you always say my darling, there is nothing to wear in the wardrobe, let's just go to yours, all this whining and begging of yours won't work this time" I stood my ground, grabbing her hand and pulling her with me towards the door.
"Fine, you are just so annoying" she groaned, letting me pull her.
"But you are going to find the dress yourself since you insisted," she added.
"Whatever you tell yourself" I laughed as I headed out.
My mind reeling on the lies I have had to tell and the ones to come, Lila is not going to find this funny.
