Chapter 1: The Rogue King

I was in my father's old territory, which I had cloaked years ago; no one knew where I was hiding, I had been on the run for six months now, and my wife had given birth to my son over a month ago. This is my dream to have a son and pass down my legacy, I always thought that would be Kyan but that b***h Lily lied to me about him being my son. Aidan came back and took what was mine, and no one knows how he was able to return. There is a theory that Addison anchored them and brought them back, but she would have to be a powerful witch; no one knew she was the Grand Witch Queen's granddaughter; she had hidden it from us. The Dark Witch said that to get Addison's spell book, she would be able to reverse the spell, making them mortal again, so I could kill them. I won't rest until we find that damn book, kill them and make me immortal; I wanted revenge, and I was going to get it.

I was going crazy thinking how I lost everything right under my nose, the lies, the betrayal of my former mate and son, she knew who Ares was, the minute she saw him, and never said anything. She lied to my face, after all these years, I thought we had reached a common ground of love and respect. Lily played me for a fool; I loved her, and I knew she loved me, Aidan filled her head with lies, and when I killed him, she would be my s*x slave for as long as she lived. I was building an army big enough to take him on, and it would take time, because when I struck this time, it would be the end of him and everyone who ever betrayed me. We all wanted Aidan gone, as a lot of my allies fled their homes, hiding from his wrath; he was killing everyone associated with his demise one thousand years ago, and quite frankly, I would have done the same. A lot of our assets were frozen, and no money was coming in until we set up underground businesses again under the radar of most drugs and girls. Esmerelda ended up being a valuable asset to my Kingdom, making her a good queen; when we first came here I was angry and lost at how to get my revenge until she took over with her level head and slowly rose to the occasion, giving rogues a home, and had our coronation in the Rogue Kingdom.

After training, I went to my quarters and saw Esmerelda was taking a nap, and our son, Julias, was asleep in his nursery. I took a shower and then walked to our closet to find clothes when I felt sparks and saw Esmi's hand around my waist, asking, "How was training?" I told her, "It was good, and we would be strong enough to take Aidan's throne soon." I kissed her passionately as I got hard, smelling her arousal; she always knew how to keep me satisfied. I headed downtown to our secret bunker to have a meeting with our allies; I looked at Alpha Nero, and he said, "I am lying low to protect my pack, I will have my men help in the war when Roman is ready," and I nodded. I contacted Barry, but he was busy with other things, and I was hoping to get more money funneled to help with our cause. Roman wants me to start recruiting men, and I have a list of former Alphas and Betas hiding out here, and I will start with those. I wasn't stupid; most of them didn't like us, but we needed leverage, and the more we enforced our laws, the better our chances of conquering the whole of Rogueland. I had my men spread out, and I walked into a workshop; I saw this guy who was perfect for our army, but he hadn't acknowledged us. I left because he was strong, we could sense it, and we would need to find out more about him and find his weakness.

Weeks passed, and I observed him; one day, he asked, "Can I help you, Beta Axel?" I was shocked that he knew my name, and I slowly walked towards him. I said, "We need you to join us on our quest to take back Roman's throne when the time is right." He didn't look up at me, and it annoyed me; he was disrespectful and said, "I am sorry, I am not joining any quest to take back a throne that was not his in the first place, he is king here if he knows what is good for him, he should stay out the brothers way." I backed away, but I knew sooner or later he would join us; I will make sure of it, Alpha Geoff. I turned to leave when the door opened and a beautiful woman walked past me, and went toward him; she didn't even acknowledge me. She was someone important to him; once I saw her kissing him, I left and headed back to the Palace to inform Roman of my findings.

I knew Axel a long time ago; he was bad news, and once he was Roman's Beta, I knew he was doing his bidding; however, I wanted no part of it. I had planned to save up money and marry Meri, and we headed home together because I didn't trust Axel, but he was long gone. She saved me from drowning in my despair after losing everything years ago; she mended my broken heart, although I fear marking her, my last betrayal cut deep. Since I moved in with her, I made repairs on the little cottage we call home, and I gave her running water instead of buckets from the well. I also plan to surprise her by opening a small bakery to bake bread for the town's people in these parts, it's a dream of hers, and I will do it for her. I lost access to my money long ago, but I had a private account, and I am careful not to spend the money carelessly, so I do a few things here and there without exposing who I am.

After cleaning up, she stood in front of me and I hugged her, kissed her stomach because she was my peace, my home, and I had fallen in love with her. Something I thought wouldn't happen again after Verlene, and she said, "I love you, Geoff," and I looked up at her beautiful gray eyes and made her sit on the table.
