Maisie had been brought up with the old beliefs, connecting with the earth and listening to Mother Nature. Her beliefs were that you don’t take what you don’t need and you allow Mother Nature to shape the way you live. That’s how it had been done as far back as she could remember. It was a simple life, one that she enjoyed and didn’t want to change. The reason Rose Cottage had been built on this site was because of the natural spring, for less walking to collect water. After Grant left, Maisie had a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach, she wasn’t sure why, but had been brought up not to ignore her feelings. She was told this was her inner spirit warning her of an impending event, and never to ignore it. She went to bed that night only to dream of impending doom.
