A death For A Life.
"Dear, it's time." The lovely Queen Rosemary told her husband, King Cornelius as she holds her stomach during a contraction. Their precious baby was about to arrive. They both have waited for a long time for this moment. Since they're getting older and it was hard for them to have children, this is their first and most likely only child. The next one to rule their kingdom. They are the rulers of the Red Wood fairies. The King calls for his mother, Ursula. Ursula is the oldest fairy there and is also the fairies type of doctor. She will be helping delivering the new addition to the family. Ursula has had that grandmother look for a long time, very short, plus size, gray hair that is always up, wrinkles, and brown eyes that have seen so much wonderful things in her whole 101 years of life. She comes wabbling as fast as she can to the bedroom with blankets and a pail of water. When she makes it to the door, shes out of breath. Rosemary starts grunting very loud on the bed. "Hold on dear, don't push yet. The baby might come right out and beat me down the stairs!" Ursula leans on the door frame gasping for air. "I know one thing, the next person who plans on giving birth up so many stairs, I'm gonna beat the dad with my cane!" Rosemary grunts real bad and calls out, "Hurry it's almost here!" Ursula rushes to the bed and sets the pail of water on the floor and sets the blankets on the bed. She then turns to the king, "Either go and hold her hand or get out." The king rushes to her and sits down and holds her hand. Rosemary looks up at him smiles. Cornelius starts to rub hee head to help sooth her. "Dear i need you to get closer to the edge please." Ursula tries to get a blanket under her to help avoid the mess from getting on to the bed. Cornelius looks at his mo. waiting to see if she will need help. "Dear i need you to scoot down please!" He then looks as Rosemary. She was pale and non conscious. "Rosemary?" He called out. "Oh no." Ursula whispered. He then looks at his mom, who had blood all over her hands. He quickly stands up from fear. "Go and get the maids. Hurry!" Ursula tells him while she quickly tries to find the baby's head. He runs to the door and calls for the maids yelling for help. Three maids cone rushing to the door, sees what's going on and runs to help. Then two more run in. One turns to him and tells him "You shouldn't see this your majesty! Please go and find someone to be with!" Then the maid goes to assist the others. Ursula then realizes that he is watching the maids rush around and blood going everywhere. She gets up and shoves him out the door, "You can't help right now, GO!" Then slams the door. He can hear the panicked voices from the other side of the door. He backs up to the wall across the hall and slowly slides down until he is sitting on the floor. Maids come out and go in for a while. It may have been only an hour, but it feels like it's been forever. The love of his life and child are in danger and there is nothing he can do to save them. He couldn't cry or talk. It might be shock. He then feels a hand rest on his shoulder. He looks up to see his brother, Phoenix. He slides down and joins him in silence. A few more minutes go by and everything was quiet. Then he hears it. A baby crying! Phoenix and Cornelius look at each other in relief and excitement. The door slowly opens and out comes a maid with the baby all bundled up. "It's a girl sire and she's just beautiful." They both get up and Cornelius reaches out to the maid for his new baby girl. She the hands over the baby smiles and walks down stairs. He moves the blanket and sees beautiful chubby cheeked baby. She has her mother's dirty blond hair. He instantly fell head over heels for her. "Hey there darling, I'm your Father. My beautiful princess." He looks up to see his mother slowly walking to him. She was covered in blood. "How's my wife? Hows Rosemary?" She looks at him with saddened eyes. "I'm sorry son. There was nothing anyone could do." She knows she wouldn't be able to handle seeing her son cry, so she turned and walked down the stairs. Cornelius started gasping. He felt like someone was squeezing his heart and lungs. He couldn't breath. Phoenix new what was about to happen so he reaches for the baby and gently brings her in to his arms and chest. "Go to her. I'll clean her up down stairs." Cornelius turns to face the bedroom. He can see the maids crying and trying to clean up but have to keep wiping their eyes with their sleeves. He slowly walks in and sees his wife. She was so pale and still. There was blood all over the bed and floor. The maids stopped and looked at him. One stops scrubbing the floor and grabs a big blanket and covers Rosemary from her chest all the way to her feet to try and hide some of the blood. He goes to sit at the chair he sat before everything happened. He leans over and kisses her forehead. He started sobbing from the feeling of her being so cold. "She would have never made it no matter what we did." He looks up to see his mom at the foot of the bed. "Her uterus skin was so thin, I'm surprised she carried the baby to fill term. When her body kept on creating contractions, it created rips and tears. We had to get the baby out as fast as we could or we would of lost both of them." He then looks at a tray next to her legs. There were tools and a saw covered in blood. She walks to him grabs him by the shirt, and hugs him very tightly. He then sobs so hard, his cries and screams can be heard all over the kingdom. Everyone knew and lowered their heads in sadness. It then started to pour like the sky was crying for him too. After a while he walks out of the room and sees Phoenix with the baby waiting there for him. He reaches for his daughter and when he gets her, he hugs her close. It start to thunder outside. He walks to the window in the hall and looks outside. He sees the garden Rosemary had grown over the years. Roses and daisies were her favorite. "What's her name?" Phoenix asked while looking out the window with him. Cornelius looks all over the garden and then sees a tree. Not just any tree, but the tree where he met Rosemary, where they hung out, where they had their first kiss, where they got married under. "Willow. Her name is Princess Willow Rosemary The future queen of Red Wood Forest." They both just stand there looking out the window. Phoenix puts his hand over Cornelius shoulder to offer for some form of comfort to him. It's been two days since the death of Rosemary. Cornelius has taken the father life pretty well so far. Thankfully, many female residents of the kingdom have offered to feed Willow since Rosemary is gone. Today is Rosemary's funeral. Since her parents had died a few years ago, it was up to him on where she would be put laid to rest. He had decided under the Willow tree and also decided that when it's his time, he wants to be put there too. Ursula took Willow for the day so that Cornelius can say good bye to Rosemary. He looked inside her coffin and can't help but cry. They did a wonderful job on her. She looks like she's just asleep. He caresses her cheek and hums her favorite tune. It was a song that plays in her old Jewelry box that her mother had someone make for her as a wedding gift. He hums it to Willow everytime its bed time. It does help to get her to sleep. Phoenix then tells him it's time. They both stare at Rosemary one last time. Cornelius takes her hand and whispers " Don't you worry my darling. I'll take care of our daughter. I'll make sure that she knows about you and how much you loved her before even seeing her. She will know how much she is our whole world. I'll sing her the same song every night, even when she is sixteen and throwing her stuff at me to get out of her room and telling me that I'm embarrassing her. She won't be allowed to date until she's 30. I love you so much my beautiful Rosemary." He then kisses her one last time before turning and walking away before he decides to crawl in there with her to be with her.
