CHAPTER THREE : HE’S GAY

1535 Words
Marcel crumpled to his feet the second those words left my lips. I could feel the warmth of the blood that trailed down the side of my lips, but I ignored it. Instead, I smiled widely and brightly. My full teeth’s were on display coated with my own blood from breaking my mate bond with Marcel. “You b***h!” Nate cursed me just as he ran towards Marcel. But I ignored him, I ignored everything as I stumbled out of the room, and towards mine. My entire form was wrecked with pain from rejecting Marcel. This was Selene’s punishment for wolves who rejected their mate, but I barely cared. I would own the pain, if it meant I would never have to spend another moment with him. The second my feet landed on the tiles of my room, I ripped the veil from my hair. My hands moved to my wedding dress, still stained with blood but I barely cared. I dragged the net tearing and ripping it, till it turned into a short gown and not the princess wedding dress I had selected happily a month ago. My eyes snapped to my dressing stand and I sighted the scissors lying there. I needed this dress off me, immediately. Not hesitating, I immediately rushed to grab it, but right before my hands could even touch it, my room door was pushed open with so much force that it left it hanging loose. Dexter walked in breathing hard, his eyes wide as he took in my form. “What the f**k did you do?” He yelled, taking a step closer to where I stood. I remained still, a trail of fear licking down my spine, but I hid it beautifully. “What the f**k have you done, Alina?” He screamed loudly this time, and I could not hold back my flinch. “I have no idea what you are talking about, Dexter,” I muttered through my cracked voice breathing heavily. “Do you take me for a fool, Alina? Or do I look like one to you? Marcel mindlinked me that you rejected him. Do you understand the gravity of your actions?” He roared, just as his hands moved like a flash, clamping around my jaws. He held me tightly as my teeth bit against the flesh of my cheeks, and the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. “You called off your wedding with Marcel! You know very well what your wedding with him means to our pack. He is the future Alpha of the Crimson pack for Selene’s sake! Calling off the wedding means breaking off the alliance between the Greenlake and the Crimson’s pack. How could you be that selfish?” He barked, spits flying everywhere. I froze as I stopped struggling against his grip and stared at him in shock. Never in a million lifetimes would I have expected to ever hear those words from my brother’s lips. “I’m selfish? He cheated on me, Dexter,” I whispered. “I walked in on him f*****g Nate. Your damn best friend,” I hissed, completely short of words, just as I finally managed to slap his hands away. “So what if he was f*****g with Nate!” He spat. My face turned ashen, as I stared at my brother. “So you knew?” “You knew Marcel was cheating on me. You knew he was having a relationship with Nate all these years and you said nothing!” I screamed, watching as he gritted his teeth in rage. I breathed hard, my blood boiling beneath my skin as I struggled to think. My fingers moved through my properly styled hair for my wedding. My golden locks flew from their binds as they fell to my back. “f**k, I feel like a damn fool! How could I not have seen it?” I laughed darkly in mockery. “Of course, you knew! Nate is your f*****g best friend. And of course, he meant more to you than your own flesh and blood,” I hissed venomously. “You let me parade myself around Marcel like a stupid b***h all this time knowing very well that he was sleeping with Nate. How could you Dexter! After I’ve sacrificed everything for y…” “Don’t finish those words, Alina! You and I know very well that you have sacrificed nothing for me. Except killing our mother the day she birthed you with your curse, so don’t act like a victim here,” he clenched out, cutting me off as he continued. “Fate played a cruel joke with Marcel and Nate. Have you once stopped to think how hard you being Marcel’s mate must have been on him and Nate?” He spat in fury. And seeing the disbelief on my face, he let out a cruel laugh. “Of course you haven’t. And that’s because you are too selfish to think about anything but yourself Alina,” he snarled. “Marcel had to pretend to be madly in love with you, for years.” Dexter spat like the thought of Marcel loving me was the most absurd thing to ever happen in the world. “And imagine Nate, how much it must have taken a toll on him. He had to watch the love of his life pretend to be madly in love with another person. Watch him mark her publicly, while he remained nothing but a secret. Have you once thought about the amount of pain they must have been in?” He bit out. “Marcel loves Nate more than anything. And he was even ready to reject you as his fated mate. But he couldn’t. And that’s because of the deal his father made with ours before he died. They knew Marcel was gay from the beginning. So father made a deal with the Crimson pack, and guess what that deal was, Alina?” He spat in disgust. “Me?” I breathed, stumbling back in dread. “Exactly, you Alina. Father sold you to Marcel to breed an heir for him to continue his lineage in exchange for the two packs aligning. But everything needed to look believable in the eyes of the pack, so Marcel had to stage everything. Every single thing he did was so the public could believe in his love for you. Now can you imagine it? How long did he had to pretend to love you? How long has he been forced to act like a person he isn’t?” He raged. “Marcel and Nate are the victims in all this so stop acting like one. As a healer wolf, Alina, the least you could do is be compassionate. Is that not what healers are?” He barked. I felt every bit of strength drained out of my body as I stared at him in horror. My brain struggled to comprehend everything. But Dexter did not stop there. He went straight to land his last striking blow. “So stop with this pity act Alina, nobody is coming to beg you, you’ve done enough damage already. You’ll go back to Marcel, right this instant, and you’ll accept his ring back. It’s good you rejected him already. That means his wolf would not be tied to you any longer. He can be with Nate freely from now on…” Dexter went on, and my anger rose with every word he uttered, my hands trembling beside me as I stood stiffly. “Listen to me carefully Alina. You will apologize to Nate and Marcel for overreacting. Then, you’ll marry Marcel tomorrow with a smile on your face. We can make up a lie about what happened today. After which, you’ll have Marcel's children like the good little breeder you were born to be. And after that, you’ll remain a faithful Luna to his pack. Do you understand?” He warned, his jaws locked hard. “And most of all, you’ll stay out of his relationship with Nate…” “You bastard!” I roared, as my hands sharpened into claws. And before Dexter could realize what exactly was happening, my claws struck his face, tearing through the skin on the side of his face slashing through. I was ready to finish him right there and then. I had no idea where exactly my strength came from. But all I could see was red. I moved again, ready to claw out another chunk of flesh from his skin. But I must have overestimated my wolf, because the next second, I froze when I felt that stinging pain rise at the side of my neck, paralyzing me completely. My hand, which was raised in the air, stiffened and then, they fell to my side. Shock was the first thing I felt, my head slowly turned to the side, my body growing weak with every second. And just then, my gaze landed on the one person I would have never expected, my father. His rage-filled eyes stared at me, as my blurred vision took in his syringe embedded in my shoulder just as my eyes slowly closed, succumbing to darkness.
