Chp10 and Chp11

CHP 10: Fighting a lost battle!

Finally Saturday, me and all my friends have been waiting for! I couldn’t sleep last night at all!

The nighttime moon felt like it was taking it’s sweet time to rise. Once darkness hit the sky the “creatures” were able to roam, Such as the werewolves, vampires, demons and hybrids. Mark made it very clear to follow the laws of the human-creature agreement.

Jeffery and I sat outside the garage door waiting for Mark to come get us. The sun was gone and the streets started to bustle with the creatures of the night. Mark arrived with a few other wolves from his pack. He let out a howl and the race was on!

Quickly I jumped onto Jeffery’s center forehead grabbing him by the fur on his head. The wolves had a head start but we started off with a lunge to catch up. Jeffery’s strides were wide but the pack knew the shortcut in town. Slowly the wolves were taking their own paths hoping to beat us to Saturn’s house. Mark stayed right behind us attempting to beat our speed. The first turn came up, Mark darted past us to the right almost running into a group of hybrids. Jeffery managed to drift around the corner leaving a skidmark from his rough paw pads.

Slobber was flying every which way as all three of jeffery’s heads bobbed up and down balancing each other out to reach max speed. We started coming up beside Mark but the second and last turn came way too swiftly. Mark ran underneath the large cerberus and onto the left road leading straight to Saturn’s home.

I yanked jeffery’s hair to the left giving him the motivation to catch up to Mark. As soon as we caught up Jeffery licked the entire left side of Mark! The poor guy tripped on his own paws making him tumble over himself a few times down the road. Saturn’s house was lit up like the sun! We started slowing down but it was way too sudden of a stop, Jeffery tipped over onto his side launching me right up to the sidewalk in front of his enormous mansion. My forehead was barely two inches from the cement steps Saturn was waiting at.

Saturn ran down the steps to make sure I was okay “Damnit Kane, Stop being so reckless!” he had grown much larger than me. He had such a strong build I was jealous, Of course his orange locks were hanging in his face to hide his deep blue eyes.

I scratched my head greeting him “Happy birthday Saturn, you could have waited inside ya know” his smirk was a dead give away that the people inside were here just for his father. We strided right through the front door and stuck to the side walls trying to avoid attention. After slipping past the ballroom we scurried through the hall, down the stairs and out the back door. This is where the best feature of their house was held: THE POOL!

Jeffery was waiting by the hot tub enjoying the steam. Saturn morphed in a flash diving into the deep pool, his fur slid back as he rushed through the water. I threw my shirt and pants onto the lawn chair before sitting on the edge of the pool waving my legs in the water. Saturn came to the surface and let out a deep howl; it echoed throughout the area. He jumped out of the pool with ease just to shove me from behind, my face was the first thing to hit the water with a loud slapping sound. I grabbed his front paw dragging him in after me “Take that ya silly dog!” We were both enjoying the pool until a group of kids came out the back door.

Saturn immediately shifted and climbed out of the pool in his swim trunks to greet his guests. They were so far away I couldn’t make out their discussion but at some point he let his ears emerge from his head and tail pop out from behind. Three girls and four guys followed him over to the pool, I submerged into the deepest part of the pool to avoid any contact.

After undressing they jumped into the pool together while Saturn sat at the edge. I weaved my way through the water up to his feet “What’s up with them?” luckily he heard my whisper and jumped in with me.

I got pulled to the farthest corner of the pool and the only thing he said was “Don’t make a scene, they’re from school” I was enraged at him for saying such a thing. I surfaced and swam over to the closest girl, he almost jumped out of her skin “Who the hell are you?!” she had the most annoying voice of the bunch.

My long black hair spread out in the water around me like vines as I stared at them. A boy with Short brown hair and a set of knife like teeth joined us “You can’t be in here, this is a private event for creatures, not humans!” his sharp red eyes twinkled as he looked down on me.

His satire wasn’t more than a inch higher than Saturn and his muscled barely shown, I assume he uses some kind of status to scare people.

I calmly stood up since they were on the shallow end of the pool, towering over him by at least 8 inches I made my declaration “I will not back down from a fight… even with a friend of Saturn’s”.

The girls started giggling as Saturn tried to pry me away from them, his cold hands had a firm grip on my shoulders. His claws started digging into my skin drawing blood. The other kids stood firm as I gave in to Saturn’s pleas, we hopped out of the pool to dry off.

Saturn’s towel was covered in fur from his tail, he may be scared but these people don’t have the right to make him leave his own pool. I got dressed while calling out to his rude guests “Gee! Some people are just too stupid to know when their life could end at any moment~” all four boys climbed out of the pool. Their footsteps were heavy and their faces fierce “Say that again?! You’re just a weak ass human, you couldn’t leave a scratch on me!” his sentence was completed with a first to the mouth. He landed right in front of Jeffery who was ready to kill at my command. The teenagers ran into the house leaving their friend bloody on the ground.

I stood above the boy’s face with a burning temper “Don’t pick fights you can’t win” my voice hissed with rage.

Jeffery went back to the hot tub and I joined Saturn inside, unfortunately I didn’t understand the ways of society as well as I thought. Mr.Marrow and all the guests were in the dining room enjoying their buffet when the girls came in screaming to their parents about what had happened. We were walking down the hallway when most of the guests ran into us hoping to figure out what the girls had been screaming about.

Mr.Marrow was at the front of the crowd “Saturn what is the meaning of this commotion?!” we stared down at the floor trying to come up with an excuse. Not even a minute passed when I locked eyes with Mr.Marrow to speak “I beat the s**t out of some punk who was being rude and aggressive towards me sir!” some of the guests pushed past us running to the backyard. Mr.Marrow was beyond upset, he couldn’t hide his emotions in the slightest when he shoved us aside to see the damage.

Saturn ran to his room without a word leaving me with all the guest that stayed behind. Most of them were of the demon classification while a few others were mixed in. I could tell they were measuring me up trying to find my worth like all other creatures. A woman walked up to me with a prideful stance “Young man, why do you hide your true self?” her voice was not harsh nor rude. More than anything she seemed worried.

“Ma’am I am not sure what you are referring to” her eyes sharpened and a pain shot through my skull like a bullet piercing skin. My vision blackened but my hearing was intact, unfortunately I felt the woman drag me into the backyard to see the mess. The adults chattered amongst themselves

“I deeply apologize for that child’s behavior, I will take care of any cost in relation to this” - Mr.marrow

“Don’t bother yourself sir, my boy is a bit wild so it is entirely possible he DID start this” that’s when the woman holding me by the wrist chimed in “Excuse my intrusion but this boy claims is is human, yet he did that much damage to a shark hybrid?” the woman spoke with contempt.

Mr.Marrow quickly replied “Oh miss Wysteria, how lovely for you to join us this evening. About regarding your question, the boy has no information on himself. We have not gained any knowledge suggesting otherwise” the gasp from wisteria was laughable.

The woman bursted into laughter “You dense Mother Fucker! How the hell can you all not see he’s an adapter?!” the woman dropped me on the ground and started a verbal fight among the two “Extinct my ass!”. Nobody could stop them, they didn’t want to either. My vision returned and my body was no longer numb. Shakily I stood up to see mr.marrow being slapped by Lady Wysteria. The woman vanished into a cloud of black smoke and the silence was deadly.

CHP 11: the shock and aftershock

Jeffery grabbed me by the collar, carrying me through the yard and out into the city. The cool night air felt nice but the heat rising from my body was unbearable. I could feel my insides churning, my mind was so busy. I didn’t remember anything from the way home, luckily we arrived at home safely. I on Jeffery’s back tossing a turning all night, the pain was so intense I couldn’t stop screaming.

It was around 2AM when the pain subsided, my sweat dripped all over making a shadow on jeffery’s fur. I tried to sit up and wound up falling onto his paw. An unfamiliar feeling weighed on my back, my body felt different over all. My hands were paws! My ears were tall and silky! I TURNED INTO A WOLF?!

My fur was pure black like the night sky, my eyes were as red as the blood moon and my tail was long and wavy. Jeffery watched as i circled around and around freaking out, all of a sudden an unfamiliar voice spoke out “U-uhm Kane?” it was a young woman’s voice! “Kane don’t freak out” Jeffery turned my way to look me in the eye “Hi Kane!” Jeffery licked my face with a wagging tail.

“Omg I can’t wait to tell you everything that i’ve been dying to say! You have no idea~” she wouldn’t stop talking “Also now that you can hear me… DON’T CALL ME JEFFERY! It’s Jessy!” my jaw was on the floor. My loyal companion was not a guy… but a GIRL?! My ear were about to explode from her constant chatter.

“JEF-JESSY! Please be quiet!” all of her jaws snapped shut and stood to attention “What’s happening?” she shrugged her shoulders without another care in the world.

I couldn’t remember everything about last night but I know that she called me an adapter. Mr.Marrow was stunned when she said that… I can’t keep my head on straight! I stumbled out the back door to get some fresh air. Sitting in the shade I watched leaves blow by. The air smelt foul but the sun didn’t hurt like it did when I walked around normally. My ears move involuntarily to listen to every sound, I could see a lot further too.

I have no idea what I am or how to change back. I feel so lost in this massive city. The institution was so small compared to this. I kept taking deep breaths to calm myself but this feeling of fear wouldn’t go away. My chest was tight and all I wanted to do was run. Cherry died only 8 months after meeting, she had some kind of accident at work but I didn’t know anything more than that. That was the first time death bothered me but why was it rushing to the front of my mind now?! Why did I become friends with saturn?! Why doesn’t anything feel right?! Tears were streaming down my silky face as I whimpered trying to steady my air flow.
