Chp8 and Chp9

CHP 8: An impolite invite

Jeffery was sitting by the garage door on guard. Cherry dropped off some clothes for me yesterday. I slipped on a nice tan T-shirt but the pants were a bit big. I opened the side door to find a box with bright red ribbon laced around it. Cerberus was preoccupied with the traffic passing by so I didn’t want to ask him to check it. I slipped the ribbon off and lifted the lid, there was a letter on top of a very nice blanket.

The letter read:

To: Cerberus’s chosen

The wolf clan of City A is sincerely sorry for the trouble we have caused. We will punish Mark properly. If you need help please come to us at XXXinc. Just ask for me,

Sincerely Jason Marrow.

The blanket was large and silky soft, there was an image of a green forest and a waterfall on it. Jeffery was waiting patiently for me to show him the new blanket. He almost inhaled it when he took a sniff. His smile was undeniable “hahaha okay bud! You can have it” I placed it on his back but it barely covered his shoulder.

It was only an hour until Cherry should be arriving so we just relaxed until she knocked. Jeffery rushed to the door holding his blanket to show her. The door opened but it wasn’t Cherry who came through. The boy from yesterday walked through standing as tall as he could “I challenge you to a fight!” his declaration was a surprise.

The white haired man came in behind with a beaten face, most of it was bruised. “Mr. Saturn would like to have a duel with you if you do not mind?” the kid was already coming at me with his claws out.

The sharp nails swiped past my face chopping a piece of my hair off. Sliding to the side I pushed his face to the ground with my full body weight. This time the kid didn’t cry instead he punched my stomach. His punches didn’t amount to much but it wasn’t pleasant. I wound up my free arm and slammed it into his chest. The breath was knocked out of him and he couldn’t fight back so I let go of his face and stepped back “damn brat! Jeffery might have killed you!” meanwhile jeffery was waving his blanket in the man’s face happily.

The man slowly approached “Thank you for partaking in his immature behavior, my name is Mark. Pleased to meet you sir” he was uncomfortably polite.

“I’m Kane. Please leave” with that he carried Saturn out over his shoulder.

Cherry popped her head in with a worried look, I reassured her I was fine. She was so happy I was wearing the clothes she gave me that she teared up. We all sat and ate the food she brought us talking once in a while.

I finished all I could, cherry was done a while ago though.

“I-i was wondering if you’d like to come over to my home?” She was speaking very quietly “It isn’t right for a child to live here” her gaze was soft and sweet as she spoke. I couldn’t take her offer because Jeffery wouldn’t be able to go and she understood.

She gave us the leftovers and went home.

CHP 9: The journal

It’s been four years since I had my first fight with Saturn, the orange werewolf. He still comes by everyday to spar with me, we have both improved thanks to it. Mark always brings something special for Jeffery and of course jeffery has a new friend thanks to that.

Cherry has been coming by less frequently so Jeffery and I had been relying on help from the wolf clan. Saturn’s father was a very busy man and does not have much time to spend with Saturn. I have received multiple letters of gratitude but to be honest… I’ve been having a lot of fun hanging out with Saturn!

Saturn’s favorite food is beef jerky. He enjoys fighting and playing more than anything. He started bringing his homework over to teach me more about the world, Mark helped too I guess. He had already started 9th grade! Anytime he had a bad day at school he came straight to me for a fight but not once has he won against me in the time we have spent together. We usually end up lying against Jeffery talking about random stuff.

Saturn invited me to his birthday party, it’s coming up and I am so excited to try the cake! We will be the same age, 16!

Before I knew it we were as close as could be, I never would have imagined this is how I would be spending my days. My life was so amazing that I couldn’t ask for more!
