Loise wasn’t at all what Crystal had expected. Speaking with her was a totally unexpected experience. She was a soft spoken and kind young girl, but something in her eyes should that she had been hurt really bad before. But every now and then an unexpected show of wit could be seen, making Crystal laugh.
“So there was this one time, when I was still almost a baby. I was crying like MAD and our parents were in a meeting, so we had to be real quiet. So Brad took me outside, into a tree! So by the time my mum found us, he was standing on his head on top of one of the highest branches to make me laugh instead!”
“O my word! You mean, he hasn’t always been this bossy Alpha male persona?” Crystal was laughing and enjoying their conversation, but her last question sobered the younger girl up.
