Chapter Five(5)

❣️ Amanda's POV ❣️

I was very happy concerning my reunion with aunt and my bestie. Time has passed and he has grown so well. He's still childish though. I giggled at the thought of that. Oops, lest I forget we are all sitted in the living room as Aunt (Lim's mum) does most of the talking. She's really cheerful just like my late mum. I sighed at the thought of those painful memories.

Tonia's POV ?

In the living room:

After the exchange of few introductory words between the Santa-Cruz and Kace, we all went to the dining table. I made sure to sit beside Lim, as Amanda and mum served the foods. I could still see Lim glancing at Amanda at intervals. I still couldn't decipher what to feel so, I'll try to talk to Amanda tonight.

*****Few minutes later*****

We were all done eating and discussing about our respective families. My parents seemed to like Lim and his mother. I smiled at the thought.

"We need to get going now mum, Mr and Mrs Kace it was nice getting to know you both", Lim said as he stood up with a blank look.

"Ok, son", Mrs Santa-Cruz added standing up as well.

"Let my wife and I escort you to your car",Dad said smiling.

"Tonia, do you want to tag along?" Mum asked.

"No mum, I'll clear the table with Amanda. Lim we'll chat later, bye", I said as I waved my right palm to him.

He just looked at Amanda, winked at her and walked out without acknowledging my goodbye gesture.

Amanda and I cleared the dishes and transferred them to the kitchen sink. I left Amanda to wash the dishes a while I went upstairs to the room I share with Amanda to change my dress. I debated on having a quick shower and having a nap. After a brief thought, I chose the former. When I was done, I opened my walk- in closet and took out a comfy set of clothes - purple crop- top and a white bumper short. I fell on the bed to have a nap. I had no idea why I was exhausted.

The Heist Mansion:/Three years ago

In a beautifully painted and furnished, exquisite sitting room -

The room screamed wealth with epitome of perfection within it. Mr Heist was reading a newspaper with a glass of wine on a stool near him.

" Daddy, is it mandatory for you to go on that business trips tomorrow? Momma please tell him,"Amanda pleaded pouting her lips childishly as she batted her eye lashes in quick succession while she cuddled with mother who was patting her head and smiling. Amanda was already an adult but she refused to act like one in the presence of her parents. Her dad looked up from the newspaper smiling as he was about to reply when........

Ten men dressed totally in black walked in with varycoloured mask on their faces,but Amanda was very sure there was a lady in their midst because of the swell on her ( the stranger's) chest area even though it was difficult to identify their gender as a result of their clothing.

Amanda and her mother were already shivering while Mr Heist stood up darting his eyes to and fro in confusion.

"Wh....who are you? And how did you get in? What happened to my security guards", Mr Heist said feeling scared but trying to sound tough.

A man came in from the door lastly. He was also dressed in black but had a unique silvery greyish mask on. He was tall and muscular. As he walked further towards Mr Heist, his aura was dangerously dark and suffocating.

"Hi Donnovan, good evening to you too", His tone dripping with pure sarcasm in a murderous low tone as he smirked which was a bit visible.

"D-d-d-o-o-n,don,is that you?"Mr Heist asked already sweating and shaking furiously.

He was very sure this was the so called and feared mafia don of the underworld. His voice, aura and bodice had completely given out his identity.

"Oh no, what did I do?" He cried inward.

The so-called don pushed him aside and sat on the couch where Mr Heist was previously sitting on. The don looked at Mrs Heist and her daughter who were already standing and sobbing.

"You've got a beautiful family here, now don't you? Well, too bad I have nothing with you. Mr Darell just wants you dead, I guess he doesn't want you to go on your business trip to Canada tomorrow which will increase your market margin and definitely lower his. Case closed", The don said as he gestured two of his men to hold Mr Heist.

"Archery", He called.

"Yes, boss,"Archery (code name) replied stepping forward .

"Mr Darell wants Donnovan dead by sending seven arrows to his chest area. Get to work," The don ordered.

Amanda and her mother gasped. Archery set to work and shot seven arrows in quick succession to Mr Heist's chest. Mr Heist dropped dead instantly as blood flowed non-stop from his body.

With irrational thoughts, Mrs Heist screamed like a mad woman and ran towards 'The don'. She grabbed him and slapped him twice which made his mask almost fall off.

" Oh no, huge mistake, wrong button," one of the men muttered, shaking his head in mock pity as he already knew the after math. No one had ever dared that.

The don pushed Mrs Heist to the floor as he called............

"Bullet"

"Boss," the person Amanda assumed to be a lady stepped forward with a gun on his/her palm.

The don took the gun and shot Mrs Heist on her head twice just as she slapped him.

"Mummy, daddy

Please come back

Don't leave me

What have you done?

I'll kill you all," Amanda lamented with an ear-splitting shout.

She suddenly felt someone's hand tapping her impatiently..........

"Amanda, Amanda," the familiar voice called out still tapping her.

"Amanda,"the voice continued more demandingly as she (Amanda) woke up and sat up, perspiring furiously with eyes as wide as saucers.

"Amanda,are you okay? I've been calling out to you," Tonia said sounding worried.

Amanda just nodded.

"I'm sure you are having your constant nightmares again. It's okay. I'm here for you," Tonia comforted patting her hair soothingly while Amanda still looked like she had just seen a ghost.

Tonia laid her down properly, covered her with the duvet and stayed awake until Amanda fell asleep.

"Hmm, she's always challenged by her past at night but during the day, she's different and makes sure that everyone is happy,"Tonia said, sighed and went back to sleep after putting off the lights. She had totally dismissed the thought of talking to Amanda about Lim.

Hmm, welcome back guys?

I think this is my longest chapter so far;it wasn't easy.
