I picked up the phone and dialed. It was after midnight. I knew Tom usually turned in early. He had to be on the air at four o’clock in the morning. Tom’s half-asleep voice answered the phone. After he determined who was on the other end, he asked me if I had lost my mind. Then he went on to say, he thought I was on my honeymoon. Then he inquired as to why was I calling him. I outlined the formal accusation of him Debra had made earlier in the evening. I told him, a few minutes ago, she did a 180-degree reversal. “No matter which way it goes, Tom, I need the truth.” He had a shocked, and embarrassed tone in his voice.
