"WHAT? Are you kidding me? Are you being serious right now?" I was actually shocked with his answer.
"Yes, I can assure you that I'm being very serious right now." Eric replied, looking rightfully bashful.
"Serious about quitting your law career or taking over the ranch? Or is it both?" I demanded.
"Of course I'm serious about both! Ruby, what is it that you don't understand?" Eric appeared slightly annoyed by my reaction.
"Well, didn't Everly basically beg either you or Bradley to take over the ranch from her? I'm pretty sure she got down on her hands and knees crying for one of you two to take it over!" I retorted, feeling upset on Everly's behalf. "Now that it's finally sold, this is the time you finally decide to say that you actually want it?!"
