Chapter 16
Isaiah's POV
Damn, what a night. Everything was just crazy. Tori shot the hookers in the head and shot the man in the leg. A freaking Rottweiler chose Bear to be its owner. I thought the damn dog was going to attack him, but he walked right over and sat down beside him. I could only shake my head at the thing. When the women came tumbling down the stairs, I couldn’t help it; I was laughing because it looked like a freaking cartoon. Her head hit each step, and I heard her legs break. Ouch, I bet that was painful. Bear ended up shooting both of them, and then we set the house on fire and left. We were now back at the house, counting
the money, and then gave everyone their half. That's how we do it around here. I don't keep all of it. If you want to help, then you get half. Selena just came to be the lookout. I did know she shot someone who was coming up the walkway. We tossed that body into the fire. I gave her half as well. She hugged us and then told us she had to get going. I know she has a lot on her plate. They've been trying to have another pup, and I was excited about it.
"Alright, guys, I have something to tell everyone. I have already emailed all the siblings about it, and Selena agreed to go. I know you haven't heard about this, but years ago, the family had a battle in a battleground. It's like if you want to challenge someone to a fight, then you do so. I've done it, Dad has done it, and Mom has, as well, even Spike and Hawk. And, Bear, you'll never guess who sent the email."
"Who sent it?"
"Your uncle. He wants to fight my dad to see who the strongest is. Are you willing to go? It's in five months. He said the arena will be built, and he's invited five packs, including us. I have emailed Bryce to see if he wants to come. Tomorrow, I'll check the emails to see if anyone agrees. But it can be dangerous. People can get killed or badly hurt. So, what do you say?"
"Hell yeah, I'm all in. I can use a little crazy." I swear my sister Tori is nuts, but I know she would want to. Even Rachel agreed. Now I'm waiting for Spike and Doc and Bear.
"Man, you know I will go. I'll be ready," said Spike, and Doc agreed to go.
"Yeah, I'll be there. But I think I'll wear a half mask. I want to freak my uncle out. Maybe even challenge him to see if he knows who I am. After all, I'm going to take half my people away from him. They will be coming soon after I talk to them. Do we have anything planned tomorrow night? If not, I'll head there and talk to them and see what they want to do. I won't take them; it will be up to them if they want to come."
"Well, I did talk to the builders today. They have twenty houses built, the guardhouse, the warrior's house, the training ground, and they are working on the pack house right now. The plumbers are there working on the pipes. They said it should all be working in a few weeks since there are over 100 people working on it. The greenhouse is built, Tori. So, whatever you are planning on planting in there, you will be happy with it."
"I'm sure I will, big brother. Don't worry about what I plan to plant. It's for people who don’t know how to mind their own business. Just a few man-eating plants, that's all. With poison ivy and poison oak so if a person goes in there without the right protection, well, they are in for a big surprise. Damn, my sister is crazy having all of that in there. I'm surprised she doesn't want a few more greenhouses for that stuff. There is no way in hell I will ever go in that greenhouse."
"How in the world did you ever find man-eating plants?" she smirked and then said.
I know someone who grew them. She's going to send me some once we've moved into the house. I'm heading home so I can shower and get the smell of those hookers off of me. I bid good night to them, then I sat back in my chair. My whole family is crazy - that's just how we are. I'm glad we will never change.
Tori's POV
I don’t know anyone who has man-eating plants, nor do I know how to get poison oak or ivy. I was just trying to freak out my brother, and I did a good job on that part. When we were walking home, Rachel came running over to me.
"You really don't have those things, do you?" I laughed and said, "No, I don't. I was just picking on my brother. But you never know, I might meet someone with that stuff. Who knows?" We made it home, ate dinner - it wasn't anything big as I wasn't really hungry. So, I mainly ate a sandwich and then went up to my room. I took a shower, dried off, and then got dressed in my night shorts and shirt. Bear was waiting in the room when I came out; he had already pulled out the bed and made it.
"If you don't mind, I need a shower. I put the dog in the laundry room. I fed him some leftovers. I need to get some food for him in the morning. I'm not sure what to do with him. He wants to be with me, so I'm keeping him."
"I'm good with it, as long as you are. Go get your shower. I’ll be here when you get done."
