Chapter 19
Bear POV
We returned to Isiaha's pack. It's mainly a collection of houses with a few family members, mostly guys who work for them with some women around. You could call it a pack. There are gardens, vegetable gardens, a training ground, guard houses, and a few gyms for training. The guns they have are quite impressive. If anyone attempts to harm the family, they are likely to face dire consequences.
It was still early, so I went to the house to rest for a bit. I must have dozed off because Tori woke me up, exclaiming, "How can you sleep like this? People are coming, and we don't know how many. We need to prepare the houses and rooms. I'm going to be the Luna, and I want to make them feel safe with me. Let's get to work." She spoke like a true Luna, and I was impressed. I quickly splashed some water on my face and joined her in preparing the houses. It might be cramped for a bit, but the pack should be ready in the next few months. I had already ordered furniture and kitchen essentials for all the houses and the pack houses. I believe everyone will be pleased with the preparations.
Rachel joined us, and I had a plan for her. I offered her the role of my Gamma, explaining that the Gamma would have responsibilities just like a Beta, such as attending meetings, helping with paperwork, and taking notes. She enthusiastically accepted the role.
Once all the rooms and houses were ready, I thought we could finally relax. However, a siren went off in the pack, startling me. I wondered what was happening. Although the guards came out and gathered, nothing significant occurred. Then, I sensed movement in the woods and recognized the scents of my guards, Mohawk and Jonny. I ran to welcome them as they approached cautiously. They seemed to be on a mission, and I assured them of their safety.
I'm sorry, Alpha. We had to leave because he was inviting rogues to stay within the pack. These rogues are ruthless and would kill anyone who looked at them the wrong way, including the pups. s**t, alright, if they put it that way.
“How many came with you? Did anyone get hurt?” I saw him shake his head, then look back into the woods, and then back at me and the rest of the group.
“Boss, when Kevin found out we were leaving, he sent the rogues to kill us. Over two hundred got killed, including my mate. He didn't care who got killed as long as we didn't make it out alive. He even killed most of the pups. Only a hundred of us got out.” Shaking my head, I was angry. I wanted to head over there right now to get rid of that son of a b***h. I looked behind him looking at them. They were mostly men, only maybe forty women with their pups clinging to them, hoping we would not kill them.
Listen to me, okay. You are safe here. We will have you train so you can be stronger to protect yourselves. I'm so sorry this happened to you, but you are safe now. Please come out and let me show you to your rooms. That way you can shower and relax, and I promise no one will harm you here. I can't believe he hurt and killed most of the members. I didn't care about the numbers; what I cared about was the people that my parents protected over the years. I swear I'm going to kill him. Isiaha, Mercury, Cheyenne, and the rest of the group showed them their rooms. We wanted them to be inside and safe, we wanted them to feel safe. Those poor people. My uncle is going to go down, and let me tell you something. I am going to be the one that does it. Let Mercury fight him. I will be the one that will end him.
