Chapter 39
Selena's POV
When my daughters told me that Tori was coming over, I knew something was wrong. She never leaves her pack unless the family needs her or if Isiah goes on a collection and she wants to go. But tonight was different; she needed her family, and I made sure I was there. When she got out of the car, I saw the look on her face - yep, something was wrong, alright. We rushed down to hug her, then took her into the pack house. She told us what had happened with Rachel and her chosen mate. That is always a bad idea because feelings could grow, and things could happen. Feelings did grow, and she was hurt, but she kept it inside far too long. When a mate rejects their mate, sometimes one of them can get really sick because their heart just won’t heal, and sometimes it can be really dangerous. They could die if they don’t find another mate or if the other just won't leave them alone. In Rachel's case, that was happening to her. So when her mate called her dad, they set up a plan, and Tori was in on it. They sent her to his pack, and hopefully, it will work. I hope it does. Time with her mate will heal her heart. Tori called to let us know that she was home. I went home to my mate Axel; he was waiting up for me when I got home.
"Is everything okay? How's Tori doing?"
"Yeah, everything is okay. She was just having a hard time with Rachel being gone. She hasn't been away from her sister since the day she was born, but she will be okay. She went back home, and all we have to do now is wait and see how Rachel is doing." I told him what had happened with Rachel. He didn't like the fact that her ex kept trying to mess with her, but it's done and over with now. He wanted to go to her pack and teach that a**hole a thing or two, but thank the goddess I had calmed him down. That would have been pretty bad.
Axel's POV
When Selena told me that she had to go to her daughter's pack, I was really worried. I thought something might have happened. I wanted to go with her, but she assured me that everything would be okay and that she would be back to tell me everything. It was about to drive me crazy when she was gone for a few hours. I wanted to send guards to make sure she was okay, but I decided not to. I knew I had to trust her. She had never lied to me before. When she finally got home, she told me everything that had been going on with Rachel. I wanted to go there and kick that boy's a**. He should have never promised her anything when they both agreed that when they found their mates, they would reject each other. Having a chosen mate is always a bad idea. I will leave it to her brother to handle it. I'm just glad everything is okay and that Rachel is with her true mate. Maybe then she can heal. I have noticed that land was bought and people were building. Maybe that's her mate; he had bought it and wanted to move closer. It seems that once we marry into the mafia, we always want to be near family. There's nothing wrong with that; all of us are really close, and we have each other's backs. It's always been that way.
‘What do you want to do tonight - watch a movie, hang out, go eat dinner?’ Looking over at her, she had that sexy smirk on her face. Ohhhh, I knew what she wanted to do. Hurrying over to her, I picked her up over my shoulder and then hurried upstairs.
‘Why don't we practice having another set of twins?’ she was laughing as I rushed up the stairs to our room. Putting her down and kicking the door shut, I locked the door. She stood there, taking off her clothes and giving me a strip tease. Oh, I loved that, and she knew I did. Damn woman, she is going to be the death of me. I knew we had another few months before we went to the battle arena. We needed this.
Kevin's Point of View:
So, there is another pack coming. What is this, a damn circus? I will fix this damn problem. Let them come; I swear they will go down just like the rest of them. I'm sick of them moving here and acting like they are the strongest. They have no idea who I am, and I am going to get rid of every single one of them. This is my town. I will decide who comes and who stays. If they don't like it, too bad.
