heading out 34

Chapter 34 Tori's POV I knew today that Rachel and Mohawk were supposed to head to the Alpha Cole's pack to see how the rogues are getting into their land. They told Bear that they had electric fences all around the territory. I don't see the problem. If they have that kind of fence up, how are they getting inside? I feel that someone is letting them into the territory, someone from the inside. It's only going to take a day trip since they are going to use the family jet. If they drove there, it would take five days to get there. Maybe this will take her mind off the dreams she has been having, where her mate comes to her in her dreams. We haven't told anyone this, but a month after Cord and my sister split, we had a scare; we thought she was pregnant with his pup. So, we bought several tests, and they were all negative. To be on the safe side, we also went to the doctors to make sure. We promised each other we wouldn't say anything, but I wasn't sure what she would have done if she was pregnant with Cord's pup. She would probably have gone back home, hid out until she had the child, and never came back here. I knew all she wanted was peace. I think this battle arena she is going to have a lot of stress. I don't blame her at all; she has a lot of pent-up stress that needs to be let out. It was two in the afternoon, and they were just heading out. "I’ll call when we land. I think their beta will be at the airport when we land, so we don't have to rent a car to drive to their pack," I heard Rachel say. "Hold on, guys. Let me speak to my sister real quick," Pulling her to the side, I made sure we were out of earshot. "Are you up to this? I know what Cord did was stressful, and those dreams you've been having are crazy. Do you think you can do this? I can get someone else to go with Mohawk." She was thinking about what I just said, and I could tell she was fighting between wanting to go and not wanting to go. She had the folder under her arm; she guards everything that Bear gives her with a passion. She takes her job seriously. Her eyes looked so sad; she looked like she hadn't eaten in a few days. I hope she is going to be okay. I'm going to talk to Dad and Isaiah to see what they can do. I've never seen her like this before; something is eating at her, and I wish I knew what it was. "Yeah, I can do this. I can't let my stuff get in the way of my work. I promise I'll be okay; we need to get going, or we'll never get there." Alright, just be careful, okay? If you get into any trouble, call us, and we will be there as soon as we can. I hugged her, and then they left. We waited for a few minutes before we went back inside. Then, we walked into his office, shutting the door and locking it so no one would walk in while we talked. "Do you think she's going to be okay?" Mohawk didn't have to go; he's only going to keep an eye on her. He's going to mindlink me and tell me everything that's going on. "Yeah, I think it's a good idea, but if she finds out that you only sent a babysitter with her, she is going to be pissed. Well, lately, they have gotten close, so hopefully, she won't be too mad. I knew I was right; Mohawk and Rachel have gotten close lately, like a brother and sister close, not anything else. When Rachel finally broke down, it was Mohawk who was there, letting her cry until she couldn’t cry anymore. Things still get to her; she has never been like this before. I think Cord broke her, and I think it will take her true mate to get the old Rachel back—the Rachel who didn't take bullshit from anyone. I think it's good that she left the pack for a bit, even if it's just for a week trip, to find out what's going on. Maybe this will be good for her, and Mo is there as well. He will make sure that she's safe." "You know she’s been having these dreams lately about her true mate; they talk in these dreams. She told me the other day that he said he was going to come looking for her. Maybe in this pack, she will find him, and maybe then everything will be alright." "Let's just hope you're right; we need the old Rachel back. I truly hope he was right. Things are going to have to change if she keeps this up. She's not eating, and she's not taking care of herself. All she wants to do is hide away in her house or work; she hardly sleeps because she said that when she does, she starts dreaming. She's so sick of dreaming; this has got to change."
