Plans

Right now everyone sat in their seats and was silent as they stirred the blank paper before them and doodled on it. Everyone was lost in their thoughts and even my twins were silent and had not made any squeak at all since their last bawling. I went slightly over to the twins and ruffled their hair and kissed their foreheads as they looked at me as if they understand the gravity of the matter that we were discussing on that evening. I cooed at them as they held my fingers right with their dainty little hands and seemed to not letting go. They were gurgling and laughing a while later and thus brought relief to Heather who thought that the twins would be traumatised earlier by my story of their demise whatsoever. Looking at the rest of the senior members sitting before me for the past 5 minutes or so and finding them to solemnly waiting for the continuation of the conference, I had decided that the information that I wish to relay to them had been successfully disseminated. "Alright then, let's not forget the 28th August that we would be holding the mass wedding service to all the 128 new couples and also to allocate the houses to them. Any suggestions whether to have them move in to the thatched homes first or to allocate the brick houses first?" Even though I knew the answer already but I would divert their attention to the future that would be happening by the end of the week. If we dwell too long in our current situation, it might not be any good effects to our lives and it would be a time when they also decided to move out from this town due to the imminent danger. "Your Majesty, we should allocate the thatched houses instead which means there would be a total of 688 houses that would have been filled in the westernmost region." "Besides, it would not be fair for them to move in to the brick homes while their parents are still waiting for the homes themselves before the recuperation process even started." Someone spoke up and it was agreed all around. Besides someone also raised a question on the type of potluck that the community would be bringing to the wedding service and be served as a boodle fight feast. This got the ball rolling as everyone was listening and giving out ideas. Heather too seemed to have shaken off the fear that she had experienced earlier on and suggested that she would be making 5 dishes for the boodle fight. Besides, I had already intended to sponsor some roasted meat and wondered if the hunting group would be going out to perform some more hunts in the days to come. Since we would also be topping up our meat supply inside the cold storage, I hope we would be able to get at least 2 families of wild boars along with their young. The young once had been dressed and roasted, would be able to feed at least 50 people...! "Don't you worry about it, Your Majesty. We would be out there to hunt for more wild boars tomorrow or the day after. Since its still summer, these wild beasts would still be foraging and prepare for their hibernation once the end of Autumn kicks in." Gwen the knowledgeable one spoke up and gave her ideas. I do not have any qualms about them hunting for more wild boar families since there won't be any signs of extinction between those wild beasts that were our main source of meat. "Alright then, in that case, we would be seeing more meat then in the next coming few days then. At least, we won't have to worry about not having more meat to sell in the butchery of the grocery store later on." The rest of the group raised their fists in the air as a sign of agreement to what I had just mentioned. Besides, the meat had been an essential part of the pottage cooked by the community in their own homes and it seemed that even those in the thatched houses seemed to have a better stature to their own counterparts elsewhere in other towns. We all knew that serfs and peasants were not being labelled to them as it does not apply here in this town. The most important part was that everyone was considered as part of the citizens of Gracehaven and not as slaves or unpaid labourers. This was because the meat was easily available to be purchased by all layers of society, unlike the serfs and peasants in other towns where meat was only available to them through trappings and not by hunting. It was really disheartening to realise the owners of the lands that had abused their citizens in such a manner as their citizens could not afford to own a weapon or hunting now at all. But not here in this little town called Gracehaven where everyone was treated the same with no statuses between them. Once we had concluded the conference for the evening, the others helped to pack up but left the slate with the dates and timeline alone. They knew that timeline would be a stark reminder of what's to come in the near future if the premonition was considered true. Heather sidled next to me and dropped my arms into hers as she sunk her head between them and sobbed uncontrollably. "Dear... Would we really be separated by death on that particular precise date? What Could happen on that day, I wished to avoid them as much as possible, dear. I want to stay with you and the twins forever...!" Heather hugged my arms tight as she sobbed and her body shook rather violently. She bawled out as if she had been suppressing all her sorrows for all these years and finally the floodgates were open and she just let all her inner feelings out. I had no choice but held her head close to me and whispered to her to calm down as I patted and stroked her head and hair. It was long after when she had managed to recover back to half of herself and then dried her tears with the ends of her sleeve. "Don't you worry much dear. We have 11 years before we would be teaching that point. So in the meantime, we should not waste the 11 years by waiting and we should be getting all the information we could from all over this land." "I am not sure if our town was the only one that got hit but to be certain  we should be getting more information from the 15 towns that we are currently servicing and also the 15 cities that Marcel is serving with the health and beauty products." "Whatever information that got through us would be kept into a journal and then we would be seeking those mythical creatures and see what we could do to prevent the catastrophe that befalls our town in 11 years time. Don't you think so, dear?" I spoke to Heather and she just nodded her head and I pecked her lips to give her some kind of motivation and also spoke that she would be needed to whip up 5 dishes to serve at least for 100 people each. She could only manage to c***k a weak smile as she once again laid her head against my arm and sighed deeply. Right now she was just comfortably lying against my arm as she tried to console herself and clan her nerves. Even though its kind of bleak future if one puts it in a way but I am here to put a diversion away from that fateful date. =*= Dear friends and fans, If you discover any grammatical errors along the way, we would appreciate if you would be able to point them out as part of helping us to keep this novel as perfect as possible.
