Fireball...!

2112 Words
After Priestess Farah had managed to catch the fireball in her hands, the intensity of the fireball could be felt this time around by the Priests and Priestess. The heat that radiates around the fireball would be able to singe the hair and clothes of those who stand too close to it. Fortunately for Priestess Farah, she was able to contain the fireball within her hands, but just barely...! "Your Majesty, how do you switch this fireball off like how you did with the smaller friendly fire?! How come the fireball that comes out from your hands can be enlarged in this way...!" Priestess Farah was literally screaming on top of her voice since she had some difficulty holding the fireball much longer in her hands. It seemed that the fireball this time had the intent to destroy anything that stood on its path...! The size and intensity of the fireball were a bit too much for her to handle and she was a bit taken aback when the fireball suddenly gorged nearly triple the size when it left the triangular space of my hands. Even it made the Fire Manipulator scream out for some assistance...! "Try throwing it back at me then." I simply said while I wiped the smirk off my face after realising that Priestess Farah was feeling exasperated while holding on to the intensifies fireball in her hands. Realising that the fear in her eyes was a bit too surreal, I dismissed the thoughts that it was a joke and immediately averted my attention towards the possible dangers of what this fireball could bring. The fireball really looked like a blown-up pig's bladder that the children used to kick around during their football matches during some event games some time back at the Macleod Coliseum. "Here, take this back. It really spells something really odd this time holding on to this fireball...!" Priestess Farah said as she tossed the fireball hurriedly back to me while I caught it and held it gingerly in my hands after I had received it from her. It was like two grown-up children playing tossing the ball to each other but one slight mistake would spell catastrophe...! I could feel the fireball intensified in my hands, as I've mentioned before, all it wanted to do was to tear down anything that stood in its path. I asked Ceres on how to shut this fireball off but she made a reply which I even got astounded by it. "I have no idea and recollection on how to switch this off, Audemars. Maybe you try to absorb it through the Sun's Eye again? Or maybe you try to somehow extinguish it if you hold down your palms on it?" Goodness me, it sure doesn't sound too convincing, does it? Somehow I tried to coax the fireball to slowly dissipate but it never wanted to listen to me. All it knew was when it's being released from the Sun's Eye, all it was supposed to do was to destroy everything! I shouted 'OFF' a few times to it but all it did was maintain its intensity and glow as brightly as before. It even raised the heat a few bars higher too...! I tried to press it down with the palms of my hands but it failed to become smaller like the small orb earlier. I was panicking... AND THE REST ARE TOO! "Quick...! Everyone get out of this place...! If this fireball blows, this building would collapse with it...!" I shouted and everyone clamoured out from the building, and the last one to exit was Heather. "Go now... Everyone out of this building. I'm going to carry this fireball out and extinguish it outdoors. We can't be holding any such experiments indoors anymore...!" When everyone is out, I called out to the fireball that I'm going to bring it out. As it understood it slowed its intensity and glowed silently in the palms of my hands. When I had exited the Priests' building, everyone was outside and even Priest Walter was ready to spout water between the gaps of his two front teeth...! Hahaha...! I walked out slowly, inching my way to the door and when everyone saw me, they gasped since I was still holding on to the fireball. The moment I went outdoors, the intensity of the fireball heightened and it was blinding, and it attracted the attention of the folks who were milling around the town square. "Everyone don't come near me...! Keep a safe distance away...!" I called out in exasperation and suddenly I had an idea. "Ceres...! What's my fire resistance?" I called out and everyone was surprised I was calling out to no one but to myself. "Above 300 points along with more than 300 life points. Are you going to absorb it on yourself through the armour you are wearing?!" Ceres was also screaming in my head and it's kind of irritating. How could a man think straight if there's someone who's screaming in one's head, eh? "No...! Don't be silly..! This fireball is not a fireball anymore and it's as intensified as the sun itself...! I'm going to send it back to mother earth and see how it goes from here...!" I hollered out as I called Priest Earl to come forward along with Priestess Imelda too. "Earl...! Make me a sinkhole as deep as you can right here in the ground. Imelda, use your ice to fill it as Earl dogs his way into the earth. Once it's more than a 100 feet deep, I'm going to throw it into the sinkhole...!" Priest Earl immediately conjured up a large hole in front of where I was standing and then Priestess Imelda helped to make the ice to fill up as Priest Ea was burrowing through the earth's surface. "I'm done, Your Majesty...! Goodluck...!" Priest Earl shouted as he and Priestess Imelda jumped back and ran towards the rest of the group. As I stepped close to the sinkhole, I asked the fireball to intensify still. Hearing my command, it gladly shine brightly until it reached scorching white-hot. I felt as if my whole body was drawn close to it like some sort of gravitational pull...! It's as if I'm holding on to the sun itself...! "Alright, fireball, so your stuff. Down the sinkhole and smash those ice and stay down...!" I hollered one final time as I raised the fireball in one hand above myself and slammed it down towards the sinkhole. It flew from my outstretched hands and sank immediately through the sinkhole and I was so glad that I sank down to my knees. A few moments later, a loud booming sound followed by a loud hiss of ice being melted and crushed deep inside the sinkhole...! *VOOM* *HHIIIISSSSSS* A few seconds later, the sinkhole emitted some sort of geyser made of white steam and this attracted a lot of citizens that came from their homes and immediately gathered all the way to the town square to witness what had happened there. It took some moments for the geyser of white steam to die down and then the community began to ask what had happened as Priest Earl and Priest Walter filled the sinkhole with water before covering it up back again. The previously made sinkhole had disappeared and the ground looked like normal before, except for a few stains of scorched earth around it. "Don't worry my dear citizens, it is just a small show of fireworks. Nothing to it. Just a small accident that managed to avert any massive damage to people and property around...!" I called out and when the community saw the familiar figure, they soon sighed a huge sense of relief and made their way back. They had thought that some kind of calamity had occurred right in the town square but it is just some accident that had been averted by me. Thinking that everything was back to normal, the town folks went about their work as normal. "Dear, are you alright? Luckily you had some quick thinking back then. Why not you send it to the sky instead?" Heather came running to me and supported me back to my feet. "It's something unknown if I had thrown it to the sky. Maybe it would lose its trajectory and land on some poor village and burned it to the ground, incurring more damage to property and loss of lives...!" "Besides, the fireball may not end up to the ground but then stayed up in the sky and became two suns instead of one." "Then our winter would be like autumn and autumn would be like summer. As for summer itself, I think the rivers would dry up and Priest Walter has to dig deeper into the river beds to gather more water from the ground up...! " I made some nonsensical and baseless findings as I explained to her to the best of my ability. The rest of the peers also listened in and some of them even believed that there would be two suns in the sky if I were to release it skywards...! "That's pretty some awful s**t out there, Your Majesty...! Your furnace is beneficial to the community, the healing and rejuvenating blue orbs is good for the community too, the lighting of the candle is somewhat useless but your fireball, all I can say that it's pretty A-W-E-S-O-M-E...! Priestess Farah was complimenting to me about the usefulness and benefits of the fireball that I had just released into the ground despite her panicking a little when she accepted the fireball in her hands earlier. Little did she expect that the fireball had such intensity when it was held by her and she felt as if the fireball was going to consume her whole. "So, Your Majesty, what are you going to do when you need to practise your fireballs? Your furnace and the healing and rejuvenating blue orbs could be done indoors with no problems. However, your fireballs would need to be practised in order for you to control it better." Priest Walter came to me and inquired since it would be best that the secrets of this special abilities be kept under wraps since people might have some thoughts to themselves and turned tail. Who knows that one fine day, there would be some people who would report to the authorities outside the walls of the town that a witch had possessed their King...! "Don't you worry, Walter. Let me think if as a way on how to practise it." I replied and I turned to Ceres as I spoke telepathically. "Does the real allows one to practise such things?" "Of course, Audemars. Back then, when you picked up a primary non-combat profession, blacksmithing was one of your traits." "You practised forging manually those iron ores until you turned them into iron ingots and then turned iron ingots gradually into steel ingots after hundred of hammering...! " "Since I had cleaned up the system, you no longer required to pick any primary non-combat professions." "Even gardening, culinary and other skills were considered as your non-combatant professions and these make the old self unable to concentrate fully on the actual tasks at hand." "In the end, it would be best to clean up the whole system so that when it comes to you, it would be much simpler than it seemed to be before." "Even your own personal statistics had been cleaned off and I had done away with all the complex calculations based on other attributes." "Now all you need is to concentrate on your health points and mana points. The rest are secondary and are all addons for you to know based kind of knowledge." After receiving such a lengthy explanation by Ceres, the only place I could do to practise the dangerous stunts like the fireball would be in the realm. At least I could visualise some targets far away and shoot it down and the system would find a way to extinguish the burning targets, doesn't it? =*= Dear friends and fans, If you discover any grammatical errors along the way, we would appreciate if you would be able to point them out as part of helping us to keep this novel as perfect as possible.
