Dear Journal,
Minutes after the conference started today, I took some toys, coloring books, playdoh, and a big stuffed panda up to room 1590 to give to Aiden. I stayed in the surveillance room until I say Aaron entering the big conference area. I linked his face to Lydia and told her to give me a heads up if he leaves early and she agrees but tells me I owe her a full explanation later. I promised that all would be revealed in time and head up to see how Aiden is doing today. I had already made sure that room service was going to bring up a 5 meat small pizza along with a chocolate shake for his lunch at 11:30a. Before getting out of the elevator I made sure that smell wasn’t on anything I bought with me or on me. Aiden gave me a huge hug after he opened the door for me, then his eyes went wide when he saw what I brought him. He asks if those were for him and when I said, “Yes.” He literally started to bounce around the room so happily. He headed straight for the panda after I set everything down on the bed and held it so tight against him while wearing the biggest grin I’ve ever seen. So, I may have cheated a bit when I was healing him yesterday and found out in his mind what his all-time favorite animal is. For most of the morning with Cartoon Network on the TV, he was sitting on the floor coloring and napping on his panda. After he ate his lunch, I got the Nerf ball out and we played catch for a bit. He has extraordinary hand/eye coordination for someone so young. When he started to get tired and slows down, I have him lay down for a nap since it’s like 3p. Just like yesterday, he curled up on my lap and fell fast asleep. I was going to sneak into Aaron’s mind to see what happened when he got back from the conference yesterday if Aiden had told him about me, but I remembered that Dad knew instantly Mom was in his mind because they were mates. I knew if I linked up to him there was a very good chance his wolf would catch me, so I linked with Aunt Charlie first and piggybacked into his mind through hers. I found out that I wasn’t quick enough hiding my scent, but it wasn’t strong enough for him to realize who I was. He just knew that he liked it, but neither he nor his wolf was able to figure out I am his Mate from the vague scent I left behind, which took a big load off my mind. I thanked Aunt Charlie, who promised to keep my secret, and turned my attention back to Aiden, who was starting to get restless. I rocked him back and forth gently for a time until he fell back into a deep sleep. Yes, I could have used my gifts to make him fall asleep like Mom would do to us at times, but Dad always said it’s better to let a pup fall asleep on their own instead of forcing it in the long run. While Aiden sleeps in my arms, I am linked to various employees dealing with menu issues for the banquet on the final night of the conference.
Lydia and I dealt with minor hotel issues and before I knew it 5p was a few minutes away. I was getting ready to leave when Aiden woke up, so I got him making things with his playdoh and turned on Kids Disney in the background. I kissed his forehead and told him I would see him soon, just then Lydia linked with me to say Aaron was getting in the elevator. So, I told Aiden his Daddy would be there soon and I needed to go back to work. He jumped up and gave me a huge hug and kissed my cheek. Ruffling his hair I set him back on the floor to play and left quickly heading for the stairs. I stayed by the door on that level until I heard the elevator ding and I peeked into Aiden’s mind to see when his Daddy entered the room. Once he was there I headed down to my office to get a few hours of work completed before heading to my own room for the night. There are only 2 more days left before the conference is over and everyone heads home. I’m not sure, what to do.
