Chapter One
The Wedding She Didn't Remember
Rain hammered against the hospital windows.
Machines beeped steadily in the silent room.
A young woman slowly opened her eyes.
Everything looked unfamiliar.
Her head pounded.
A nurse gasped.
"She's awake!"
Doctors rushed inside.
"Miss Evelyn... can you hear me?"
She blinked.
"...Where's Daniel?"
Everyone froze.
Her mother began crying.
Her father looked away.
The doctor exchanged worried glances.
"Who is Daniel?"
She frowned.
"My fiancé."
Silence.
Finally her mother whispered,
"No... sweetheart."
"You aren't engaged to Daniel."
You're engaged to Michael."
Evelyn laughed.
"What kind of joke is this?"
Nobody laughed.
Her smile slowly disappeared.
"No..."
"No."
"That's impossible."
"It should be 2026."
The doctor sighed.
"You've been unconscious
She looked around.
"What day is it?"
The doctor answered carefully.
"July 18th."
"What year
2029
Her smile slowly disappeared.
"No..."
"No."
"That's impossible."
"It should be 2026."
The doctor sighed.
"You've been unconciounconscious for six weeks."
"You lost three years of memories."
Her world shattered.
Hours later...
A handsome man entered carrying flowers.
His smile was warm.
"Evelyn..."
Tears filled his eyes.
"I thought I'd lost you."
She stared blankly.
"I'm sorry..."
"Who are you?"
His smile faded.
"I'm Michael."
"Your fiancé."
Her heart skipped.
"No."
"My fiancé is Daniel."
Michael's face turned pale.
"He died."
Everything stopped.
"What?"
"He died two years ago."
"No!"
"You're lying!"
She ripped the IV from her arm.
She screamed.
She cried.
"I SAW HIM!"
"I TALKED TO HIM!"
"I WAS GOING TO MARRY HIM!"
Doctors rushed to calm her.
But one thought echoed in her mind.
Someone was lying.
That night...
Everyone slept.
Except Evelyn.
She wandered through the hospital corridors.
As she passed an abandoned waiting room...
A folded envelope lay on the floor.
It had only three words.
FOR EVELYN ONLY
Her hands trembled.
She opened it.
Inside was a handwritten message.
Don't believe anyone.
She froze.
Another line.
Daniel is alive.
Her breathing stopped.
Footsteps echoed behind her.
She turned.
Nobody.
When she looked back...
The letter had one final sentence she hadn't noticed before.
They're watching you.
