2-Annabelle

"Welcome First Years." The dean said from the podium, looking around the room of about five hundred students. I liked that he didn't say, freshmen. I don't know why that term irked me so much. "I hope you are settling into your rooms well and are getting along with your roommates. This year is the first year of a whole new life for you. Your powers emerge. Some may hear your dragons for the first time within the next few months as your magic grows within you. For those that don't, do not fret. That is why we are here. Our goal is not only to strengthen you as individuals, like dragons but to strengthen magic and bring back the dragons for all." His voice was deep with emotion. I wondered why. His dragon never emerged. I was shocked by what Jade said. How could the Dean of Draconian Academy not have a dragon, not even in his head.  "In a few minutes, you will be excused. On your way out, you will receive your schedules along with a school map. Use today to explore the grounds, learn your way around. Tomorrow classes begin, and being new will not be an excuse for tardiness." His eyes traveled to the side, and I turned my head to see who he was looking so fiercely at.  I gasped silently. There were a set of twins leaning against the far wall, but what had shocked me was the amount of power I could feel radiating off of them. They must be the twin Princes'.  "Mase," I whispered. Not sure why because everyone was talking. "Is that them?" I tilt my head towards the left. She looks over and grabs my hand squeezing so hard I thought she was trying to snap my bones.  "Ouch," I yank my hand back, glaring at her, not that she noticed. She was now staring at the twins with lust in her eyes.  Don't get me wrong; they were gorgeous. Tall, evident even from this distance. With dirty blond hair and light eyes, I wasn't sure precisely what color from here, but light in color. They had sharp jaws, and even in their button-down shirts, you could see the muscle definition of their arms. I probably spent more time in the gym in one day than I spent in a gym in my entire lifetime.  Ain't that the truth. Jade's snarky comment made me roll my eyes, which Maisie saw.  "Why you over there rolling your eyes, girl they are Fine with a big ass capital F, and you know it." This time she rolled her eyes. I laughed lightly, amused that she thought the eye roll was directed at her obvious attraction towards the twin Prince's. "That they are Mase, but not break my hand fine." Amusement was apparent in my voice, though she did not exactly agree with me based on her facial expression.  "Whatever. Let's go get our schedule." She stood, grabbing the same hand she tried to shatter earlier, and dragged me towards the tables with teachers handing out class schedules. "I hope I have at least one class with one of them." Her light sigh reached my ears, making me realize she was a goner.  I think I may be the only female in the entire school not affected in that way by the Princes'. I mean, yes, again, they are good-looking, but so is half of Hollywood. It's not like there's a chance anyway for a halfling with a royal, so why waste my time.  "Name," the teacher in front of me asked, her voice annoyed.  "Annabelle Quill ma'am." I responded politely. She may be rude and did not want to do her job, but my mama taught me manners.  "Oh, you're the halfling." Her voice was loud as it pierced around the room, causing almost all eyes to turn in my direction.  I could feel the heat start from my neck as it made its way up to my cheeks. I was not too fond of attention on me, especially negative. She handed me a folder with some papers inside without saying another word, and I guess I was too beneath her even to pretend to be polite. My blush deepened, and I could feel embarrassment down to my very core.  "You don't have to be a b***h, Ms.Tabolt." I heard a male voice say behind me, and the teacher's, Tabitha's, eyes widened.  "So sorry." she quickly said, lowering her eyes down to the table. I turned straight into the twins, one of them grabbing my shoulders to steady me.  Blue, they both had blue eyes.  "Hey." One smiled brightly, a slight dimple showing on his left cheek. "I'm Micah. That, " He pointed towards his brother. "Is Murdoch." Murdock then smiled just as big, with a dimple on his right cheek.  That, that right there was how they got the girls to fall at their feet. Well, the ones that didn't just drop their panties simply because they were Royalty. I gave a polite smile. "Annabelle."  Just as quickly, I turned and walked out of the building. I know it was rude, but I could feel embarrassment eating away at me, and it was only a matter of time before I said or did something I would regret. It didn't help that I could feel Jade bristling, wanting to surface and melt the stupid teacher right where she stood.
