Chapter 1 - Ruth's learns a secret heritage.
Poem: Golden Red Wolf . In the deep forest, a wolf so bold, With golden red fur, a sight to behold. Through moonlit paths, it swiftly glides, Its spirit untamed, where darkness hides. Each step resounds, a symphony untold, A majestic creature, both fierce and bold. Silent whispers follow in its wake, As nature's harmony trembles and shakes. With fiery eyes, it pierces the night, An ethereal dance, pure grace in flight. Through ancient woods, a wild soul set free, the golden red wolf, forever it'll be. … … Ruth P.O.V. … … I was sitting in bed, cozy and warm under the blankets, with my bedside table light on. My mind was blown by the fact that I had just written my first poem while I was asleep. Holding my tablet as I reread the poem, I know deep inside my heart that poetry isn't my thing. Painting is. With my emerald green eyes on the screen, I was unaware of the silent movement of my mother entering my bedroom. I screamed when she said my name, scaring the s**t out of me. We both soon burst out laughing at this moment, as I patted an area next to me on the bed. Once we were both comfortable, I let my mom read the poem. "It's beautiful. Did you write it tonight after you finished your painting?" My mom inquired, looking in the direction of my corner art area. When I followed her gaze, my jaw dropped open in disbelief, speechless. We both got out of my bed. I was mesmerized by the new artwork of a full moon and a large wolf with golden red fur. Tonight, this was the image I dreamed of before hearing a girl's voice that inspired me to write a poem. I embraced my mom and asked. "Mom, you know me inside out. Poetry isn't one of my hobbies. Painting is, just like you. That is my true passion. What is happening to me? Am I obsessed with the golden red fur wolf?" "Oh honey, no. You can't really count on two weeks of being obsessed. Consider it by spreading out your creative vibes. But, if it was 24/7 every day for the next two years, then its definitely a big YIP!" We laughed as my mom stepped away and added this. "So have you checked out the gifted G.R.F. twitter post this morning?" "Not yet, mom. It slipped my mind." Taking my hand, my mom led me back to the bedside table and picked up the tablet and gave it to me. "Let me freak you out even more." My mom said with a smile. I shook my head at her bizarre moment as I put in my password and connected to my Twitter. I arched my brow when I saw I had a message, went there, and saw that it was from G.R.F. and the name of her new poem. What happened next was out of my control. In spite of the fact that I felt overheated from head to toe, my mind was on a different mission. I found myself back in the nightmare I had two weeks ago, where my passion for painting wolves got started. I watched as a crazy looking old hag worked at a large black cooking pot, throwing things from jars into it. I didn't look since the gross smell reached my poor nose, making me feel like vomiting. My surroundings soon changed until I found myself standing in a meadow with wild flowers all around me, clear blue skies above, and a stranger in a silver cloak standing five feet away. "Hello Ruth," the stranger female said. "We will meet again in a few minutes. It's time to wake up now." The next thing I knew, I was in a bath full of cold water. My thoughts of whatever dream I had were forgotten as I broke the surface for air. My body was pulled from the water, and I was wrapped in a towel as strong arms embraced me from behind. When my eyes focused on both my parents that were standing two feet in front of me, asking me questions. The only thing I did was scrunch up my face in complete confusion, wondering who was holding me from behind. "Um, who is behind me if both of you are standing before me?" I asked without thinking, my mind still wondering if it was one of my three taller brothers. I still feel the heat radiating from the wet towel on my back from the other person. "Hi Ruth, it's me, Gabriel." A teenage boy's voice said from behind my head. All my coolness left my body as I tensed up, as realization came screaming through my brain, acting all crazy as my dream crush held me while I was freaking out in freeze mode like a complete damn ass. Plus, I just died in embarrassment when my dear sweet naive mother opened her mouth and asked me, "So this is the boy you being crushing on?" "MOM!" I said, as I took one step out of his embrace, while my dad chuckled at my moment. I felt so flustered and embarrassed by his handsome godly blessed looks, that I forgot I was still standing in my wet cloths and a towel. Part of me wanted to run and crawl under my bed, but unfortunately, the door was right behind him. And the other part of me was enjoying his company. So I gathered my inner strength and turned around. When our eyes met, I felt that 'love at first sight' moment. Until his dreamy and sexy voice pulled me back into reality. "Well, I must be going. See you guys soon." Gabriel said with a charming smile, and turned around to walk out of the bathroom. As I watched him walk away from me, and that same part of me wanted to follow him. Until my dad cleared his throat to bring my attention back to them. I blushed when I had to face them. Where one by one, they smiled and kissed me on my forehead. Dad left first, while my mom stood by the bathroom door. Told me to have a hot shower and get done, and not to be late for the surprise at 8am, and closed the door. I merely smirked, I knew the surprise might be one birthday gift out of the ten from the list I gave my mother last week. As I moved forward to lock my bathroom door, the world around me. This time there was thick fog surrounding us, and the stranger was seated in the middle of the red sofa. The cloaked figure soon introduce herself as the Moon Goddess Selene, while patting the empty place next to her, telling me that we have lots to talk about. I looked down to see that I was wearing pink bunny p.j.'s, wondering if my body is wearing the same thing. Selene added that my body is on auto-pilot to get things ready before 8am. When Selene revealed my heritage from an unknown past and my bleak future. Tears were running down my cheek. I didn't wipe them away as I was trying to comprehend everything inside my mind. The Moon Goddess inquired if I had any questions to ask now since I have five minutes before 7:30am. "Why me? What did I do to deserve this fate?" I asked in a broken voice, staring at some random point in the thick fog. "And where in hell is my birth mother?" "Everything will work out if you follow my instructions and the truth will be revealed to you, Ruth. They will come with a ten minute deju've warning. I can only do so much when other forces work against your heritage. So it's time to wake up, my child." My eyes flashed open to the sound of my alarm going off. I couldn't believe what weird dream I had about my life and finding out about a heritage that came from my birth mother. Until an old memory popped up about the story of how I was born, from a donor egg. As a result, I had to follow the rules set by the Moon Goddess. So the only solution I had was to make the surprise trip memorable for my family. When I got out of bed, I switched on my bedside lamp, where I found my cloths already prepped on my chair. I also found my three (small, medium and big) suitcases ready and waiting for me. It's true that my sleepwalking body has a certain fashion sense. Leaving my trust in Selene, I got ready quickly, since I also needed to eat breakfast before we left for my birthday destination. ... …
