Chapter 14 - Gabriel new findings

Gabriel P.O.V. ... ... Following Ruth's heated exchange, I made my way to my father's office to talk to him. From just after 4 a.m. until 7:30 a.m., my dad and I discussed my mates and everything I knew about them. Just as I was wrapping up my conversation with my dad when Grim suddenly filled my entire body with an ancient power. Despite the power surging through my whole body, I sensed something calling to me from the bookcase behind my dad. Rising from my chair, a part of my brain tuned out my dad's voice and, with Grim's guidance, we Unlocked a concealed section. Oblivious to the world around me, I followed the staircase downwards, guided by blazing torches on the wall. Grim made a comment about the stairs that were made from stones and not wood, while I focused on the speed I maintained, taking three steps at a time. In less than ten minutes, I reached a spacious area with more torches on opposite sides by a large old wooden door. I felt Grim gently move forward within me as we shared my body. I allowed him to do his thing as he approached the door, knocked three times, and then loudly spoke a single word. A language I have never heard before, but he promised to explain everything to me later today. The door opened just as my dad's hand rested on my left shoulder. However, Grim intervened, informing him that any inquiries will be answered by the one person that we will be meeting soon. We found ourselves being guided to a large war room, taking only five seconds to take in the sight of numerous ancient artefacts, all well preserved conditions. After being told to sit at a table, one by one, we exchanged greetings. It wasn't long before we learned that the young man's name was Matthew and the reason behind his modern day clothes that he was wearing. He provided us with a concise summary as he disclosed that he was the final heir of the Royal Lycon lineage. Further explaining that our current location, once known as The Kingdom of Emberfall Valley, had its name changed to Silverstone Valley two thousand years ago. The Moon Goddess Selene had given him this task to complete, and had blessed him with an extended lifespan and given him the title of The Keeper. Matthew even diligently oversaw our pack, as he ensured that goodness prevailed and prevented any unfavourable events. He mentioned that the Royal Rovers were deployed to live in the human world, and right now, he is on a mission to locate the last Rover. Matthew turned his gaze towards me, tilting his head to the side, as his eyes transformed into a mix of black and yellow, as though he were trying to read my aura or something. I watched as Matthew stood up and instructed me to follow him to a different area in the room. As he pointed to where I should stand on the oddly patterned circle, I immediately felt a clear connection to Ruth and Trisha's state of mind. Inside my head, Grim urged me to tell him about Ruth's unusually heated episodes over the last month, while he searches for Trisha. "Ruth and Trisha are our mates," I admitted honestly, looking into his amber eyes. "but Grim hasn't explained why I'm drawn to both of them." Just ten, Grim interjected with a sense of urgency in his voice, seizing control of the conversation. "Matthew, do you have any insight into why Ruth is entering a heat mode? Could it be connected to another power or something else entirely? And would Trisha also display the same power? Since I can't find her." Gesturing for everyone to follow him, Matthew guided them to another room. Once inside, he had guided them into a stone chamber lit by four torches positioned on the walls. We came to a halt in the middle of the center of the room, where a glowing red crystal in a circular formation shimmered beneath our feet. From the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of my dad standing to the side, watching us. Once more, our gazes met, as Matthew asked him how old Ruth and Trisha. I told him that Trisha's birthday was last month and today is Ruth's birthday. With pressed lips and a frown on his face, the Keeper elaborated further. "Just like me and my sister. Two thousand years ago, on this day, being Ruth's birthday, my own sister would have turned eighteen. However, I can't understand why this early Ascension is happening, given that both girls are two years younger than my sister was. So, I need you and your wolf to come together to bring both girls here, right now, as we're running out of time." "Matthew, do you still have my clothes for the anointing ceremony? And Gabriel, save any questions for later. We have important matters that you need your mates here now!" I arched a brow in my father's direction, who had remained silent until now, wondering when he was going to tell me about this little secret of his. "I'll hand it over shortly, but first, we need to get them ready. It seems time is against us now." Twenty minutes later after my dad and Matthew gave me the time to wear, I marvelled at the rich but pristine Royal Ascension clothing that fitted me like a glove. Matthew and my dad were nowhere to be seen, so I decided to step back onto the red crystal, and ... everything became a blur. I found myself in a white area, standing three feet in front of another boy, whose facial features and height resembled mine, despite looking a few years older. With a smirk, I addressed him, "Well, Grim, it's about time we met in person. Any important updates from the Moon Goddess Selene?" Showing his own grin, he simply said, "Well Gabriel, I hope you're ready for what we have to do next." ... ...
