So apparently being stalked by a man is one thing, but to find out he is a creature you thought was a myth is another. When the rogue fae killed my family, I found myself in a whole different world where elves, fairies, werewolves, vampires, dragons, merfolk, sorcerers and shapeshifters exist. And here I remain under their protection.

But it seems that fairy is not the only person after me. Well, what the hell happened to my life?

Stalker
This stalker has been stalking me for weeks, I am terrified whenever I leave my home. I know he knows where I live, I’m only seventeen and in my final year of high school with some older guy stalking me. And honestly, it started when I was working at a café on a weekend on the Gold Coast Queensland Australia, the man asked for a coffee and asked for some directions. I gave them to him, and he proceeded to flirt right then and there, my wonderful boss Chelsea had to chase him out of the café because she did not like him. For some reason, he has decided to stalk me from then, and I have no idea what he wants from me. I worry about what he will do to me as he has been relentless in trying to talk to me, flirt with me and has attempted giving me flowers and chocolates, I have refused all of these and he has not taken the hint. My parents and brother are aware, and they are scared for me as well. Josh, my fifteen-year-old brother, is determined to kill my stalker as he hates seeing me so stressed and scared. I am grateful for his courage, and I hope he doesn't have to act out what he wants to do. For now, I keep my head down as best as I can to avoid any attention as I do not want anyone getting hurt. “Amelia!” Chelsea called out from the kitchen of the small, homely café. I was finishing wiping down trays when my boss called and I put the cloth down to head into the kitchen where the brunette woman was waiting. “Sorry if I sounded like I was going to be mad about something, but I noticed a familiar car outside.” I groan loudly and rub my palms on my temple. “He's here again, isn't he?” “I am afraid so Amy, you should stay in the kitchen as I don't think he has seen you,” Chelsea said calmly. She glanced at the chief. “Nera, would you mind if Amelia helps in the kitchen for a bit? Just until mister stalker asshole has left.” “Sure.” The woman wiped her forehead and smiled at Amelia. “I think you can help by looking through our stock to make sure we have nothing going off and everything is in order.” I smile and run to grab the folder with the stock check. She found the paper and pulled it out and grabbed a pen. I was very good at this so I was happy to check the stock. I like to pretend I am Gordon Ramsay when checking the stock, the kitchen crew seem to enjoy it too. I walk back to the kitchen with a smile. “Now I better go and see what disaster we have in the cool room, freezer and dry stock,” I say, putting on a fake Gordon Ramsay voice and chuckling softly. “Don't worry chef, our stock is stored incorrectly so you have to dig through slimy, rotten, moldy food and show it to me so I look like an i***t,” Nera responds sarcastically. “Oh, there is also raw meat next to cooked meat, so everything is in perfect order.” Chuckling, I tie my dirty blonde hair back to neaten it and walk out the back to go through the stock to pass the time. She hoped that the man would just go away, she did not want to walk home and have his car following her home again. That has happened so many times, and I just hoped I would catch a break tonight. For now, my hazel eyes trailed over the sheet while writing in the information regarding the stock for the café. Even though the café is small, Chelsea made it her mission to have the freshest and best produce available, thus making this task very important and it took almost an entire hour to finish. Once I was finished, I head into the office to write the information into an Excel sheet so Chelsea and Nera could go through it and make any new orders for ingredients. “It seems that asshole is still hanging around.” I jump at Chelsea’s concerned words. I clenched my hands for a moment before relaxing them with a deep sigh. This is so anxiety inducing. “I’ll tell you what, he is parked where he cannot see the backway out of the café. You should go that way and take the long way around.” I smile and turn to her, appreciating her concern. “Thank you, I will do that when I am finished.” “No, you should leave early. That man knows the times you get off now, I think throwing him off the scent will be wise. Too bad the police are useless right now.” Chelsea is such a sweetheart, she really cared for my wellbeing. “Thank you, I am almost finished with this spreadsheet, and I will head home.” I turn back to the computer screen to finish filling in the spreadsheet. “You will also be paid in full as well. I do not want to shortchange you simply because of a man who cannot take a hint.” I was shocked and looked at her with wide eyes. “And do not try to change my mind honey, it is best you stay safe.” Chelsea smiled with a pretend stern expression. “Thank you,” I whisper and feel tears well in my eyes. I just wish I did not feel like something bad will happen, because the stalking will likely continue. Elsewhere Glaring at the road in front of me as the driver drove along the M1 towards the Gold Coast from the Brisbane airport in a black BMW X3 M40i. I am a little tired from the jetlag but determined to complete the job that had been given to me. It has come to the attention of high council a rogue fae has been stalking a young woman who is not even a young adult yet. And they had asked me to come and deal with him. Sighing deeply, my icy blue eyes looked down at the folder in front of me, reading through the information on Dennis and his little gang of fairies. I often wished our world could live as humans do, but we cannot. We are beings’ humans consider to be a myth, and it should stay that way. However, this young lady may unfortunately be dragged into our world because of this fairy, or fae as their other name. “Sir Darien, we are ten minutes from our destination,” The driver informs me. “You will meet Amira, Lucien and Lauren, they have been keeping a close eye on Dennis for the past few weeks.” He turned his head slightly, I could see his red eyes underneath the sun glasses he wore on his face. “What will you do if this young girl knows about the fae?” I sigh deeply. “Like we always have done with humans, bring them under our protection and keep them from exposing us to the outside world. You and I know that humans cannot know that we exist. I am surprised you offered to drive me Stephan, your eyes will give you away if people are smart.” The driver huffed with a smirk. “I got the short end of the straw I am afraid. And what about you Darien?” “It is my job to keep the rogues on their best behavior, that has been my job for a long time. Being a dragon has its perks as it is for you being a vampire,” I respond nonchalantly. “I do not draw straws, I just get the job done.” “Lucky you.” I rose an eyebrow at Stephan’s words, he was sarcastic and jealous at the same time. Vampires were immortal, so if he wanted to be a rogue hunter, he could become one unless the vampire had found a reason not to be. I hear my phone ring and look at the screen to see Amira’s number. This cannot be good. I answer the phone anyway. “Hello Amira.” “How far away are you?” Amira’s nervous voice asked. There were noises in the background of shuffling and arguing. “Ten minutes, why?” I ask with concern. “Has something happened?” “I am afraid so, I need to give you new directions as things have changed. The young lady is not harmed…but her family I am afraid have…well, that fae has done something that warrants a death penalty to him.” I was in shock when she said that, I immediately guessed what has happened and turned on the speaker of the phone. “Okay, I have turned the speaker on. Tell Stephan where to go, but we will have to stop a block away so he does not get out of control himself.” “Understandable,” Amira said and proceeded to tell Stephan where to go. The vampire puts the address into the GPS and we were on our way. There was no questioning that the young lady needed protection. I just hoped we could put Dennis away before he gets to her, the cruelty of rogues were often extremely unpredictable and often the innocent people got in the way. I felt sorry for the girl, but I unfortunately see it all the time. I have lived almost a thousand years already, and I have faced numerous rogues. Oh, and I do not just mean fairies and werewolves, there are also rogue vampires, dragons, elves, sorcerers, merfolk and shapeshifters. Most of our kind live peacefully and within the rules of our kind, but there were some who did not and they were considered rogues and needed to be kept in check for the safety of themselves and humans alike. This is certainly not my first rodeo with them.
