New York, the city that never sleeps. Typical place to begin, but it is where it happens after all. Loki's first attack on the innocent party goers all dressed up in suits and gowns and other sophisticated formal wear. Y/N was among them, simply celebrating a promotion at a job she honestly hated. A simple human in a simple black dress gown with a rough past like everyone else and a small distrust for men. However…
She hears screams as she then sees Loki come out, wearing his Asgardian leather and that large horned helmet gleaming in the city lights. He duplicates himself, surrounding the crowd before her as he commands all to kneel. One man makes a mistake, defying him as it soon leads to his demise. Loki commands once more in a booming voice to kneel. Y/N begin to see everyone around her kneeling before him, but she won't…
Loki takes notice that Y/N isn't kneeling as he begins to approach with his scepter, scowling toward her. He stands before her, intimidating, brimming with malice as he gives a mischievous smirk. “You might want to kneel, darling…. If you truly understand what is good for your mortal life.”
Y/N feels a sense of dread and almost begins to kneel…But she stop and straightens up, bracing for whatever he had planned with that scepter. “No.”
“No?” He asks, eyebrows raised in intrigue and amusement.
She replies more sternly toward him, defiant. “No.”
He chuckles to himself as he shakes his head. “No, you say? Darling, you must not know who I am.” He turns, his cape waving over as he walks through to the front of the crowd, facing them as he then speaks out clear. “All you pathetic creatures, listen up! I am Loki of Asgard! And I am burdened with glorious purpose. You mewling mortals, kneeling, quaking before the God of Mischief, have no idea what a privilege it truly is to witness my very presence. But I will make you see, starting with you.” He points his scepter toward Y/N, smirking.
She looks at the scepter as she gulps a bit. She’s dealt with dangerous men before, but not like this. This was someone truly out of this world. She sees him approach again, keeping the scepter pointed at her as he seemed to be preparing to use it. However, before he could use it, the Avengers, newly assembled, arrive to apprehend him, saving her and the crowd to live for another day. As they take him away, he glares at her for a moment before boarding a ship.
Some time later, Y/N was back home in more comfortable clothing, working on catching up with any forms she had missed at her workplace and still recovering as much as she could from the attack. It was lucky the Avengers showed up when they did. She could have ended up as dust for all she knew. However…. She hears a noise coming from outside of her office as she grabs the bat she had nearby. She slowly approaches the door, listening for any footsteps coming close as she reaches for the knob. She sees a silhouette approach the door through the translucent window as she gets ready to swing. But suddenly… the silhouette disappears before her, leaving her confused until…
“Interesting you would prepare yourself like this, but you really ought to beware of all your surroundings.” A familiar voice was heard from behind her as she quickly turned and saw Loki, this time in a suit as he was sitting in her office chair.
“You! B-But how? Iron Man and the others apprehended you!”
He chuckles as he rises from his seat, running his hand along her desk as he moves around. “You can thank my brother for that. He apparently has his heart in the right place, but his intelligence is lacking when it comes to subtlety. Now…” He begins to approach Y/N. “What to do with you? You and I still have unfinished business for if one simple human can defy me, the rest may simply follow… And if that were to happen, then I will need to demonstrate more of my power in order to get them to kneel before me again.”
She begins to back away, still holding her bat tightly as she gets ready to swing. She sees Loki scoffing with amusement.
“Seriously, do you honestly believe you can hurt me?”
She quickly goes to swing the bat at him as he grasps it firmly in one hand, yanking toward himself as he then uses his other to shove her away hard, making her hit the door as she lets out a grunt.
“I am a God, remember? Such simple weapons can hardly do damage to me. You may as well still be in the Middle Ages. Those were simpler times, humans were so easy to please and manipulate until they started perceiving everything as witchcraft.” He approaches Y/N, his hand grasping along the collar of her shirt as he lifts her up, her legs dangling in the air. “Now then…. What do you suggest I do with you then? It would be so easy for me to crush that little neck of yours… However, you entertained me quite a bit with that little show of defiance before. Where is that now?”
She struggles against his grip, legs kicking as she tries to kick toward his abdomen. However, he grabs one of her legs, squeezing her ankle firmly. “I could break this twig of a leg right now… I could break every bone of your body and enjoy the sound of your screams.”
She whimpers a bit as she stops her struggles as he could feel her quaking in his grasp, smirking. “Now you’re beginning to believe, aren’t you? You know now just how much of a threat I truly am.” He soon drops her as he then straightens his suit and brushes back his hair. “You really are an amusing little mortal, aren’t you? Perhaps you could be my new toy until your last breath.” He squats before her, looking into her eyes piercingly. “How about that?” The power suddenly goes out throughout the house as Loki lets out an exasperated sigh. “Great. He’s found me again.”
Thor soon bursts in through a window and knocks Loki out as Natasha soon climbs in through the hole and goes to restrain Loki.
Thor speaks out in disappointment. “Brother, you really have become too predictable, haven’t you?” He soon picks him up and looks to Y/N. “Are you alright?”
“Y-Yeah…” That was all she could muster as she looked at the God of Thunder and the red-haired woman.
“You look shaken.... Maybe you should…” Natasha goes to press a pressure point in Y/N’s neck as she soon passes out. Natasha holds her a bit as she then looks to Thor. “If you please?”
Thor picks her up as well. “This human is so light… Now why am I bringing her?”
“Loki could have done anything to her. She could be his accomplice or just a person of interest considering she was at that party as well.”
Thor chuckles as he starts walking back through the hole. “Loki is known to toy with people at times. It’s why he was given the powers and the title of a mischievous God.”
They bring her and Loki onto the ship, restraining both while they were unconscious as they are now flown out to the S.H.I.E.L.D air base.
