By the end of the day I was very tired. Mike texted me asking if we could go to a diner and get something to eat. I accepted his invitation. It’s better to go and eat now because when I get home the probability of me eating is very slim and I’m very hungry. I met up with Mike,Hannah and Harry at the school parking lot. Mike offered to give us a ride to the diner and to our various homes.

The diner is one of the best in the house and it’s owned by Jackson’s mother. She’s honestly the sweetest woman on earth. It’s shocking to know an asshole like Jackson is her son.

We got to the diner and looked for a sit. Harry called a waiter to attend to us.

“Hello. What would you like to order today?” The waiter asked

“I want a piece of chocolate cake and milk please.” Harry answered

“I want an apple pie” Anne gave her order.

“ I want pancakes with strawberry toppings.” Mike said

“Ok. And what do want sir?” The waiter asked me.

“Oh sorry. I want hamburger and fries.” I responded.

“Ok I’ll get your orders.” The waiter told us before leaving.

“Why did it take you so long to make an order?” Anne asked.

“I was trying to decide on what would fill me more. You know I might not get to eat when I get home.” I explained.

“Oh ok. It sucks to have a family like yours.” She said

“Yeah, I know let us talk about something else please. I really don’t like talking about them.” I begged.

“Ok. So are you excited about your birthday? You are going to...” Anne stopping talking because she was interrupted by the waiter.

“I’m sorry to interrupt. These are your orders.” The waiter said placing our respective orders in front us.

“Thank you.” The four of us said in unison.

“You are welcome. Please enjoy your meals”. He said with a smile me before walking away. Honestly speaking the waiter is kinda cute. If I were human I would have gone for him.

“This looks delicious. Oh it tastes delicious as well.” Harry said mouthful.

“ This place serves the best pastries and you come here all the time so you should be used to it by now.” Mike said

“I don’t think I can ever be used to something as delicious as this.” He replied

“Quite bickering the two of you. So Brent as I was saying earlier are you excited for you birthday?” Anne asked again.

“Yeah Brent, it’s only a week away. You are finally going to find your mate.” Harry added.

“He’s not excited. He feels he won’t have a good mate or won’t be a good mate. I really envy him. My eighteenth birthday is in a few month and I’m very eager to find mine”. Mike said excitedly.

“You guys honestly can’t blame me. Everybody knows how unfortunate I am when it comes to things like this. The only good thing that has happened to me is you guys.” I explained.

“If you continue thinking like this you are going to jinx your chances. Be positive bro. Being positive brings good things.” Anne said.

“Yeah yeah. Anne is very right stop thinking negatively.” Harry said.

“Okay whatever. I’ll start being positive. Can we eat quickly? I don’t want to get home to late and get into trouble again.” I said

“Okay” The three of them said in unison.

We ate in silence and after we were done Mike called the waiter to bring the check and paid.

“I feel bad every time you pay for my meals.” I whispered to Mike.

“I offered to pay dude. It’s no big deal. Okay?” He whispered back.

“Okay.” I said

“Enough of you guys whispering to each other. Let’s go already.”

Mike decided to drop me first.

“Good bye guys. See you tomorrow.” I waved at them

“Bye.” They waved back
