Luna's POV
I ran through the dark forest, sobbing as the heavy rain poured down.
My arms instinctively wrapped around my stomach.
"Hang in there, my baby," I whispered through my tears.
I hadn't even gotten far from the Blackwood Pack when I sensed them.
Rogue wolves.
And I knew they weren't there by coincidence.
Someone was hunting me.
Awoooo!
The terrifying howl of wolves echoed through the forest.
A chill ran down my spine.
Ignoring the pain in my legs, I forced myself to run faster.
"Stop following me!" I cried, tears blurring my vision.
But my plea only seemed to excite them even more.
Suddenly, a massive gray wolf leaped out from behind the trees.
Growl!
I tried to dodge, but I was too late.
Slash!
Its razor-sharp claws ripped across my arm.
"Ahhh!"
I screamed in pain as warm blood streamed down my skin.
No...
I can't fall.
I have to protect my baby.
Another wolf lunged toward me.
I stumbled backward until I realized there was nowhere left to run.
A cliff stood behind me.
Five rogue wolves slowly surrounded me, their glowing eyes fixed on me like hungry predators.
"Kill the woman."
"But make sure the child inside her survives."
My eyes widened in horror.
How did they know?
Before I could speak, one of them smirked.
"The Alpha's heir is worth a fortune."
My heart nearly stopped.
No...
They can't have my child.
Even if it costs me my life.
"I'll never let you take my baby!" I shouted.
I raised my fists, ready to fight, even though I knew I stood no chance against five rogue wolves.
Just as they were about to attack...
A brilliant silver light suddenly burst from my body.
The entire forest was illuminated.
The rogue wolves froze in fear.
"W-What's happening?"
An overwhelming energy radiated from my womb.
Then a gentle yet powerful voice echoed inside my mind.
"The child you carry is the last heir of the Ancient Alpha Bloodline."
"Protect him... for he is destined to change the fate of the entire werewolf world."
The moment the voice disappeared—
BOOM!
A massive wave of energy exploded outward.
The rogue wolves were thrown violently into the air.
But the power drained every ounce of strength I had left.
My vision blurred.
My body collapsed to the ground.
Just before darkness claimed me, I saw a tall man dressed in a black cloak rushing toward me.
"W-Who... are you?" I whispered weakly.
He caught me gently before I hit the ground.
A faint smile crossed his lips.
"Don't be afraid, Luna."
"You and your child are safe now."
Then everything went black.
Chapter 3
The Mysterious Savior
Luna's POV
The faint scent of herbs filled the air.
Slowly, I opened my eyes.
A wooden ceiling came into view.
"W-Where am I?" I whispered.
I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through my body.
"Don't move."
A deep voice echoed from across the room.
I turned toward it.
The man who had saved me was standing by the window, dressed in a black cloak. His silver eyes were fixed on the moon outside.
"It took you two days to wake up," he said calmly.
Two days?
Panic rushed through me.
"My baby!"
Instinctively, I placed both hands over my stomach.
When I felt the faint heartbeat of the little life inside me, tears streamed down my cheeks.
"Thank Moon Goddess..."
The man walked over and handed me a cup of warm herbal tea.
"Drink."
I hesitated for a moment before accepting it.
"Who are you?" I asked cautiously.
He remained silent for a few seconds.
"My name is Rowan."
"I live far from the territories ruled by the Alpha Kings."
I frowned.
"Why did you save me?"
His expression turned serious.
"Because your child must live."
My heart skipped a beat.
"What do you mean?"
Instead of answering, Rowan reached into his cloak and pulled out an old scroll.
He carefully unrolled it.
My breath caught in my throat.
The drawing on the ancient parchment looked exactly like the silver light that had surrounded me in the forest.
At the center of the symbol was a single sentence written in an ancient language.
Rowan looked into my eyes.
"The prophecy has begun."
"The child you carry is no ordinary heir."
"He is the last descendant of the First Alpha King."
My hands trembled.
"I... I don't understand."
"Thousands of years ago," Rowan began, "the Moon Goddess blessed the First Alpha King with a bloodline powerful enough to protect every werewolf pack. But she also warned that one day, darkness would rise to destroy that bloodline."
He paused before continuing.
"Your son is the last surviving heir."
"If the wrong people find him first... they won't just kill him."
"They'll use his blood to seize absolute power over every werewolf kingdom."
Fear gripped my heart.
Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around my stomach.
"No one will ever take my child."
Before Rowan could respond, the front door suddenly burst open.
Bang!
A bloodied wolf warrior stumbled inside.
"Master Rowan..."
"They found this place..."
"The Shadow Rogues are coming!"
At that exact moment, dozens of terrifying wolf howls echoed through the mountains.
The hunt...
Had begun again.
My eyes widened at the wounded warrior's words.
"Master Rowan... we don't have much time. They're getting closer!"
Rowan immediately walked to the window and looked outside.
His expression darkened.
"They found us sooner than I expected."
He turned to me.
"Luna, we have to leave. Now."
"I... I can't even stand," I said, wincing in pain.
He stepped closer.
"You can."
"You have to... for your child."
My hand instinctively rested on my stomach.
He was right.
I couldn't give up.
Slowly, I forced myself to my feet. My knees trembled beneath me, and I nearly collapsed, but Rowan caught me before I could fall.
"Take a deep breath," he said.
I nodded.
Suddenly—
BOOM!
The entire cabin shook violently.
Dust and splintered wood rained down from the ceiling.
"They're breaking through the barrier!" the wounded warrior shouted.
Rowan quickly grabbed the sword leaning against the wall.
Its silver blade gleamed beneath the moonlight.
"Luna."
I looked at him.
"No matter what happens... don't let them capture you."
I nodded again.
Another deafening explosion shook the cabin.
CRASH!
A window shattered.
Three rogue wolves leaped inside at once.
Growl!
They charged without hesitation.
But in the blink of an eye—
Swish!
Rowan swung his sword once.
The three wolves were sent crashing across the room.
I stared at him in shock.
He was unbelievably powerful.
"These aren't ordinary rogue wolves," Rowan said, tightening his grip on his sword.
"Someone is commanding them."
Before I could ask who—
A loud laugh echoed from outside.
"Hahaha..."
The front door slowly creaked open.
A tall man wearing a black cloak stepped inside.
His crimson eyes glowed in the darkness, and a long scar ran across the left side of his face.
A sinister smile spread across his lips.
"I've been looking for you for a long time, Rowan."
Then his gaze shifted to me.
And finally...
To my stomach.
His smile widened.
"So this is why you've been hiding her."
"The child we've been searching for is here."
I instinctively stepped back, wrapping my arms protectively around my stomach.
"You'll never take my child."
He laughed.
"I don't care about you."
"All I want... is the blood of the child you're carrying."
A chill ran through my entire body.
Without taking his eyes off the man, Rowan spoke to me.
"When I tell you to run..."
"...don't look back."
For the first time...
I watched Rowan's silver eyes slowly turn gold.
An overwhelming Alpha aura erupted from his body, filling the room with terrifying power.
He wasn't an ordinary man.
He was an Alpha...
And judging by his presence—
One of the most powerful Alphas alive.
