Awkward could not begin to express how Nick felt as Caitlyn blinked up at him on Monday morning.
His chest tightened and his face heated even as he tried to pretend that he hadn’t been avoiding her for nearly a month.
Ducking into hallways and staying busy in a completely different ward had helped.
But it seemed his good fortune ended today.
“Doctor Lee!” Caitlyn caught up to him.
It was too late to turn around and pretend he hadn’t heard. Besides, Nick was tired of acting like a coward.
