"Sure, if no one minds," he said.
"The more the merrier," Rebecca smiled, happy.
"There"s another chair in the mud room," Steve told him, scooting his chair toward Jade"s to make room for him to add a seat.
While Jade filled drinks and served soup, he got the chair and put it in the opening between Steve and Nick. Jade set one bowl of soup in front of him, then moved around to give Rebecca the other before going back to her own seat.
"Who deals first?" she asked.
"I will." Steve took the deck and quickly shuffled it several times before passing them out, one by one.
"What did you think of operations, Matt?" Steve asked after the last card was dealt and the top card had been turned to start the discard pile.
