Chapter 8Leslie asked Arya to go to the hardware store at the mall. It was days after Ace snuck into her room at night. With a list of things to buy, she thought back to that night. When Ace closed the door behind him Arya sat up and wondered what was wrong with him.
She traced the spot his lips had touched. If she knew it was coming she would have used her power to know what he was thinking. He stopped by the restaurant less after that. When she was alone at night she ached to have his touch. She replayed the moment he kissed her forehead over and over, but it was torture instead of soothing.
Arya left the store with everything she needed. A group of kids from school took up two tables outside a fast food restaurant.
"I should have used the other way."
