Chapter 9Ace had been gone for hours and the party had since died out. Still the readings of her powers made her heart skip it's rhythm. She asked herself countless times if it was true. If only the old lady hadn't vanished before explaining how the powers actually worked.
The next morning, Leslie wasn't home and Cora was otherwise occupied in the dining hall with her friends. Arya went about cleaning and washing. The kids lingering in the wash area barely looked her way when she passed by.
When Ace arrived at the restaurant, the other wolves were showing up for dinner. The crowd was quiet. A grave dark cloud hung over their heads. For once Arya served food without being yelled at or having to bear with some of their groaning. The Luna and Alpha weren't present which was a rarity.
