Escape I

They would hit and try to pierce their huge double tusk into each other while also occasionally putting those same tusks into the man’s body. David was shocked, and even more nauseated he realized the man was still alive. Their sights met, and he reached out for David, a wracking cough came out of his mouth as he spat out blood and pointed at David. David did not waste any time, he decisively started the hover bike left the garage and went in the opposite direction of the man and the two walruses. David felt guilty, but saving that man would have been suicide, not to mention there was no way he could have survived. Before he went too far David braked sharply and turned the hover bike raising massive splashes of water that attracted the walruses attention to himself. David raised his gun and aimed, but he was not aiming for the walruses, he was aiming for the man. He squeezed the trigger and moments later the man fell into the water with his blood dying it red. The walruses brayed loudly as they realized their food, which they have been playing with was no longer alive. They roared in anger, but David had already turned around with his bike and was going straight for the commercial area of the island using as much speed as he could. Sea water sprayed into the air behind him as the meter tall tires of the hover bike ran across the ground with little resistance. David could have chosen to fly his hover bike, but for some reason he couldn’t explain, the power cells were not fully charged, without enough power he would not be able to fly for a long enough time and it would be really unfortunate if he finds himself in need of flight for escape, but can’t fly because his power cells were drained. Driving the old fashioned way, won’t drain the power cells, but the hover bike could actually use the kinetic energy generated for moving to rapidly charge the bike. So flying should not be a problem, as long as he can survive and keep moving for the next ten minutes. The wind pelted David’s face as he made his way down a road that was now completely submerged in water. There were three bridges on this island, but all three were on the west side of the island since it was the west side of the island that faced the mainland. Soon enough the barricade came into view, or what was left of it anyway. Something had ran through the barricade complete dismantling it and scattering a few cars all over the street. Loud roars and brays came from behind him as those walruses kept chasing him. David engaged the rear view camera and what he saw almost shocked him of his bike. At first there was just two walruses, now there was almost fifty if not more, the water was not deep enough for them to swim in, but their two front fins had evolved into two powerful arms with really terrifying looking claws. David passed through the barricade and drove straight, he heard screeching cries from his chest and looked down to see the three tortoises had poked their head out of his bag and were screeching at the wind that blew past their scaled faces. If he was not running for his life David would have appreciated such a sight, he loved animals especially when they were cute, but this was not the right time to screech at the wind or behave like a dog with its head stuck out a car window. David drove down the street while keeping a healthy distance with the family of walruses behind him. A sudden screech from one of the tortoises drew David’s attention enough for him to dodge the three foot long piranha that came flying for his face with jaws the size of a basket ball. David brought his head down as the piranha flew over, it was surprising because piranhas were fresh water fishes, not salt water predators. What the freaking heck was it doing here. But where there was one piranha there was always a hundred others. “Ahh!!” David shouted as he sharply braked to the right and went straight into an alley, now apart from a family of walruses, a school of piranhas were now after his sweet African booty. And to make matters worse, the alley was a dead end. “Seriously are you that adamant for my death! universe or God? Who ever is in charge right now!” “Screeeeeeech.” “I know, I know! There’s a f*****g wall in front of us.” David snapped at the tortoise who innocently took it upon itself to tell David to watch where he was going. It was only trying to warn him, why was he being so rude. The little tortoise drew its head back into the bag while its siblings glared at David. But David didn’t care, his life was on the line and he was not ready to pay attention to a couple of tortoises with hurt feelings. Which was strange because it now seemed like David understood all three of them, he could draw meaning from their words and understand their expression. It was almost like he could read their minds. But David never noticed this, as the wall in the distance grew closer David saw another source of problem in front of him. There was an octopus lounging on a trash can, its entire body was black while the tips of its eight tentacles were green. David felt as if the entire world was against him right now(or which ever insane author was writing this story.) He activated the hover bike function and the bike shot up at an incline, they would scale the wall, but there was no way he could avoid making contact with that octopus, because it was huge. David pulled out his modified handgun with his right hand while his left hand continued to steer, then he pushed the guns intensity from stun to kill and pulled the trigger. The gun spat out hot ball of energy that burnt a hole through the octopus and melted the trash can it was laying on to slag. The smell of burnt flesh and gas wafted through the air, then as the hover bike was about to go over the wall, David turned and fired off a few shots into the center of the walruses and piranhas that were now eating each other. The balls of burning hot air caused enough damage that left many of them dead and smoking. David nodded his head in satisfaction as he turned and faced his front the scene in the alley already forgotten. The alley opened up into an avenue that had coffee houses, restaurants and a cinema. But above all else it had something or someone David recognized. It was that yellow giant lizard who had taken control of Ahmed. And by the looks of things it had succeeded in taking over a few more life forms. From where he was standing, David saw three of the same monster he had killed in front of Ahmed’s house. Their gleaming bone armor shone under the sun, but non compared to the fact that the bat David had saw when he first woke up as two people, the very same bat that was lying in the rubble of a house was also there. And by the green reptilian iris in its left eye, the yellow lizard has also succeeded in taking control of it’s mind. The lizard noticed him as his hover bike flew away from the avenue. It roared in anger at David. David smiled at that because it seemed like he lizard remembered him, there was going to be a showdown, but not today. David had to put all of his focus on surviving this island. “Screeeeeettt” David’s head was rattled by the sound behind him, he turned only too see a giant bat, three stories tall right on his tail. Its green eyes glinted under the light of the dying sun as malice filled its gaze. “What the f**k!, Come on man!” Well it was quite obvious the yellow lizard did not care about David’s survival. It wanted that showdown, and it wanted it now.
