Chapter Eight - The Pep Talk

Alpha Damon led Amaranth towards the main foyer of the pack house. Taking her up the main staircase, he guided her down the hallway and to another staircase, going up two flights. On this floor, there was only two doors. Damon led Amaranth to the first door on the right side of the hall. Opening it, he stepped aside to let Amaranth go in first. She was met with a seating or living room that looked a lot like Dimitri's office, many browns and beige furniture and curtains. "This is Dimitri's suite, and what is his is yours so this is your suite as well," Damon said guiding Amaranth through the suite. "This is the living room area. Through this door is the bedroom, which is where I believe the omegas put your luggage. Here you can find a closet with half of it cleared for you to put your belongings in. There is also another door that leads to the bathroom." "I see that Dimitri's favorite color is brown" Amaranth said as she looked around the bedroom, taking in the king sized bed with a dark brown canopy bed frame, light brown transparent curtains draped over it. "Yes it is," Damon smiled. "But I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you wanted to add some color to the room. Speaking of color, what color palette would you want your office to be, dear?" "Red, dark red almost like rubies. And black." Amaranth said without hesitation, taking in the fact that she's going to have an office. "Alright, I'll have that information passed onto our designer so that they can prepare a catalog of options for you to look at and pick from." Damon began to turned towards the door that leads out of the bedroom into the hallway. "Now that I have shown you your room, let's have that tour of the grounds." Amaranth and the dogs followed Damon as he led them back the way that they come. Damon showed Amaranth the kitchen, where the dog bowls and food were already set up. He showed her the dining room and lounge areas, the grand hall where they held events and gatherings. Taking her outside, Damon led Amaranth east towards the residential side of the pack land, where all of the members of the pack lived, in either apartments or houses. Leading her back west, he showed her the training area and explained the patrol schedule to her. Amaranth took all of the information in, sending polite but shy smiles at pack members who greeted them as they passed by. Making their way back towards the main pack house, Amaranth began to feel a bit anxious. The amount of pressure and responsibility setting in, she was ready to take on the role of Supreme growing up but Luna? This wasn't something that she saw in her future, and now being on the Scarlet Moon Pack land it's as if the reality is finally setting in. "You have nothing to worry about, dear," Damon said, smiling at her as he sensed her anxiety. "You are going to be an amazing Luna." "Everyone keeps saying that but I don't really get the feeling that I will be." Amaranth frowned. "I don't know what it takes to be a Luna. I was raised and trained to be a Supreme, I don't know what's involved in running a wolf pack." "I don't really think that there is much of a difference. Both are female roles in which the individual serves as a uniting figure. One that takes care of her people, organizes them and makes sure that the group is stable and safe. Making sure that everyone is living up to their full potential." Damon smiled. "How are the pack members going to feel about the fact that their luna was MIA for over a year?" "They are aware of the fact that you being away was of no fault of your own. They know that you had no control over when you came here." Damon stopped moving, causing Amaranth to turn and face him. "I think that there is something else that is leading you to doubt yourself." "Yeah? What do you think that is?" Amaranth asked, curious to hear what Alpha Damon's thoughts about her were. "I think that you have been playing a submissive role for too long. And that has led you to doubt yourself." Damon lifted a hand as Amaranth was able to say something. "You just said that you were trained to be a Supreme. Do you know why you were trained that way? The answer is because you are the first born of a Supreme. Your mother trained you to be the one who takes her place once she was ready to step down. But you are more than just a Supreme. You are the first born of an Alpha, whether he and his mate want to address that fact or not. You weren't born to be submissive. You were not made or trained to be submissive. But you were put in a situation where you had to be submissive in order to survive. And I am here to tell you that you don't have be do that anymore, not here." Amaranth was close to tears, "You know, it's weird to hear that said out loud. That I am an Alpha's first born. I've always known it, but having been around so many people who didn't know, and being told to never mention that fact, it slips my mind sometimes." "You are a lot stronger than you may realize. Whether you have a wolf or not, there is no doubting that you are of alpha blood. You were born to be a Luna just like you were born to be a Supreme." Damon smiled down at her, brushing a tear off her cheek with his thumb, "Never doubt yourself". Amaranth smiled back at Alpha Damon. She took a moment to gather herself, wiping some stray tears and taking a few deep breaths. The two began to walk again. Reaching the pack house, Alpha Damon guided Amaranth through the house, stopping by the kitchen to pick up two spare dog bowls before heading upstairs to her room. Upon entering, Amaranth set down the bowls in a corner and turned to look into the mini-fridge for a bottle of water. Finding what she was looking for, she then filled the bowls, allowing the dogs to have a drink. Alpha Damon said his goodbyes and went to turn and head out the door, when he stopped in his step. "Oh, I almost forgot. Your godmother had a trunk delivered here for you. It's locked but she said that you'll be able to open it. So with that being said, I'll finally leave you to unpack and settle in." Alpha Damon then left, leaving Amaranth with his words of encouragement repaying in her mind.
