Lurking in Shadow

She had become a force to be reckoned with, and she had quickly become known as the "Shadow" in the underground world of superpowered individuals. They first met by chance, when they were both running from the authorities. The Lurker had been spotted by a patrol and was on the run, and The Shadow had been tipped off about a raid on her hideout. They had met in an alley, and for a moment, they had both thought the other was an enemy. But then they recognized each other for who they really were, and they quickly formed a bond. They soon realized that their powers were stronger when they were together. The Lurker could use his invisibility to cover The Shadow's movements, and she could use her shadows to conceal his presence. They were a perfect match, and they quickly became a team. As they stood on the rooftop, watching the destruction below, The Lurker turned to The Shadow and said, "I know the world consumes us, but as long as we have each other, we can survive." The Shadow smiled, and they shared a kiss as the city burned around them. They knew that they would always be outsiders, but they also knew that they had found something special in each other.
